B. SAFETY FACTOR

G. LADDER TYPE TRAY SECTIONS

PART 3 - E6ECUTION
SC$EDULE % - INSPECTION
A. $<amine conditions under w!ic! ca0le trays are to 0e installed. 3otify Arc!itect in writing of
conditions detrimental to proper completion of t!e wor. Do not proceed wit! t!e wor until
unsatisfactory conditions !ave 0een corrected.
SC$EDULE 1 - INSTALLATION
A. /nstall ca0le trays and accessories as indicated in accordance wit! manufacturer8s written
instructions, requirements of applica0le standards and in accordance wit! recogni:ed industry
practices to ensure t!at installation complies wit! requirements and serves intended function.
". Coordinate as necessary to interface installation of ca0le trays wor wit! ot!er wor.
C. /nstall integral fire stops w!ere ca0le trays penetrates fire-rated walls and floors. &eal 0etween
ca0le trays and opening and around opening wit! fire-rated sealant not less t!an wall, or floor,
fire ratings.
D. At floor openings provide concrete cur0, 1( cm wide and 1( cm !ig!, around ca0le trays and
seal wit! non-com0usti0le material.
$. #rovide electrical 0onding and equipment eart!ing (grounding) connections for ca0le trays.
)ig!ten connections to comply wit! tig!tening torques specified 0y manufacturers to assure
permanent and effective connections and grounds.
2. Anc!or mounting !ardware firmly to walls, floors, or ceilings, to ensure enclosures are
permanently and mec!anically secured. #rovide all !ardware and accessories for proper
mounting.
G. Doute ca0le trays as required and mae final field measurements 0efore ordering ca0le tray.
C. %!ere t!ere is insufficient elevation or lateral c!ange in direction to accommodate fittings
directly connected, adBusta0le vertical connectors or adBusta0le !ori:ontal connectors wit!
straig!t section in 0etween may 0e used. Avoid slopes t!at would cause ca0le to 0end on
smaller radii= t!an t!at allowed 0y ca0le manufacturer.
/. #rovide !angers, rods, straps, special 0racets, and ot!er means of supporting ca0le tray as
required.
SC$EDULE 2 - FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. #rior to installing ca0les in ca0le trays, test for electrical continuity of 0onding, and eart!ing
connections, and to demonstrate compliance wit! eart!ing requirements.
". $lectrically energi:e ca0le tray systems and demonstrate functioning in accordance wit!
requirements. %!ere necessary, correct malfunctioning units, and t!en retest to demonstrate
compliance. Deplace equipment w!ic! cannot 0e satisfactorily corrected.
