Our topic was Ocean Pollution.
46 out of 53 (86%) animals are affected
by ocean pollution. They are most
commonly affected in the Atlantic
Ocean, Pacic Ocean, and Mexican
Gulf.

What Did We Do
We did a bake sale to raise money to
adopt a sea lion.
We raised $60 from our bake sale and
went to the marine mammal center.
We had enough money to adopt one
seal and one sea lion.
Held a bake sale at school during break
to give money to the Marine Mammal
Center.

LilaRach
The seal, LilaRach, was rescued from
Stinson Beach. When rescued, Lila was
underweight and dehydrated, but after
months of loving care, a healthy
LilaRach was able to be released at
Drakes Beach near Point Reyes
National Seashore.

Blonde Bomber
Blonde Bomber was a young California
sea lion and was spotted at Pier 39, with
a packing strap around his neck, this
was obviously caused by ocean
pollution. After removing the packing
strap and cleaning the swollen wound,
Blonde Bomber was ready to return to
the wild and was released at Rodeo
Beach in Sausalito.

Why This Helped!
We did this to send a message about
ocean pollution and its affects on
marine wildlife.
These poor, suffering animals were
hurt by ocean pollution and to help
we adopted them and donated money
to their foundation.
This helped people become aware of
the dangers and consequences of
ocean pollution.
