ALPHA AND OMEGA
You are Alpha and Omega,
We worship You, our Lord,
You are worthy to be praised.
You are Alpha and Omega,
We worship You, our Lord,
You are worthy to be praised.
We give You all the glory,
We worship You, our Lord,
You are worthy to be praised.
MATTHEW 5:14-16 (NIV)
14
You are the light of the world. A town
built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15
Neither
do people light a lamp and put it under a
bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and
it gives light to everyone in the house.
16
In
the same way, let your light shine before
others, that they may see your good
deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
--------------------
MATTHEW 5:14-16 (The Message)
14-16
Heres another way to put it: Youre
here to be light, bringing out the God-
colors in the world. God is not a secret to
be kept. Were going public with this, as
public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-
bearers, you dont think Im going to hide
you under a bucket, do you? Im putng
you on a light stand. Now that Ive put you
there on a hilltop, on a light standshine!
Keep open house; be generous with your
lives. By opening up to others, youll
prompt people to open up with God, this
generous Father in heaven.

Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before
You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and
our breaking of our Covenant with You.
Not only have we done things we ought not to have
done, said things we ought not to have said, lef
undone so many things we ought to have done and
been silent when we should have witnessed for You.
Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and
pretended not to see the injustces, the racism and the evil which pervade our
everyday lives.
We have shut our ears and pretended not to hear the cries for liberaton which
come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed even our own Black
brothers and sisters!
Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of Thy
great sacrifce. Hear us, we beseech Thee, as we come to You in love and worship
giving Your Name the praise forevermore.
******
To All Our Visitors ... To all who mourn and need comfortng ... To all who
are friendless and want friendship ... To all who are oppressed and need
liberaton; and to whosoever will come, Trinity opens its doors. Thank you
for coming, and may God bless you.

Confession of Sins
Minister: Tithing is the biblical principle of returning 10% to God frst.
Congregaton: The earth is the Lords, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
Minister: Debt is a spiritual issue. We are robbing Gods people when we live beyond our means, refuse
to budget, invest, save, and tthe; we are seduced by debt.
Congregaton: The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is Mine and you reside in my land as
foreigners and strangers.
Minister: Tithing, budgetng, and stewardship are the solutons to the spiritual problem of debt.
Congregaton: Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
Minister: Debt is fed by the desire for immediate gratfcaton, poor planning, and the need to keep up
appearances.
Congregaton: His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few
things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness!
Minister: Tithing, saving, budgetng, and good stewardship of resources is the calling of all Christans.
Congregaton: Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running
over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Minister: Debt slavery has been used since 1863 to prevent people of African descent from gaining
power and independence.
Congregaton: Share with the Lords people who are in need. Practce hospitality.
Minister: Our ancestors were forced into slavery. Today, we volunteer to be enslaved by debt and we
mortgage our childrens future.
Together: O God, we have been called to be a debt-free congregaton. We are called to teach our
community, children, and grandchildren the discipline of tthing, the power of budgetng,
the blessing of saving, and the beneft of investng. We desire to live debt-free because it
honors God and our ancestors, who died not for debt, but that we may live free with our God.
Amen.

Family,
Thank God for you. You are so close to
reaching our goal of $5 million . . . As of May
28
th
, we are just short of 95% of our goal, or
$4,743,219! 1,249 members/families
have made that possible.
Also, as of May 21
st
, 2,342 members have opted-
in. That means that if just the remaining 1,101
members who have already opted-in pledged
just $20 a month for the next 3 years, we would
easily exceed our goal.
God is doing a great work through the members
of Trinity United Church of Christ!

began this good work.

Recycling 101
Recycling is the process of turning used waste and materials into
new products. This prevents useful materials from been wasted
as well as reducing energy and polluton.
How can YOU make an immediate diference?
Keep track of who is sending you junk mail and cancel it. The average American household
receives unsolicited junk mail equal to 1.5 trees every yearmore than 100 million trees for all
U.S. households combined. (www.dmachoice.org and www.catalogchoice.org)
Get a reusable water botle and/or travel cofee mug. Save money by drinking tap water and
homemade cofee.
Use cloth napkins, rags, and diapers instead of disposables. Save money and the environment by
washing what you already own.
Donate or resell your unwanted clothing and household goods to thrif stores or other

June is Cancer Survivor Month
For the past 27 years, the month of June has been designated for survivors for the last 27 years
and is acknowledged on the frst Sunday of June. The corresponding color is light blue.
A cancer survivor is a person with cancer of any type who is stll living, whether a person
becomes a survivor at the tme of diagnosis or afer completng treatment. Including friends and
family members of the cancer patent are also considered survivors.
About half of all men and one-third of all women in the U. S. will develop cancer during
their lifetmes. About 11 million Americans alive today one in 30 people are either
currently undergoing treatment for cancer or have done so in the past.
The risk of developing many types of cancer can be reduced by changes in a persons
lifestyle; for example, by staying away from tobacco, limitng tme in the sun, being
physically actve, and eatng healthy.
There are also screening tests that can be done for some types of cancers so they can be
found as early as possible - while they are small and before they have spread. In general,
the earlier a cancer is found and treated, the beter the chances are for living for many
years.
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shater hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confdence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the spirit.
