Acquisition Geometry
Figure 1 shows the overall acquisition geometry of the synthetic data set. The
origin of the coordinate system is in the upper left corner of the model, with the
horizontal axis positive towards the right and the depth axis positive downwards.
The source is moved in increments of 25m between each shot starting at the
origin. The source depth is kept constant at 6m. A total of 400 shots were
recorded.
The dataset is acquired using ve dierent xed receiver arrays, three hori-
zontal arrays and two vertical arrays. Table 1 shows the receiver array positions
and parameters. All receiver arrays, except the streamer array, record both pres-
sure, vertical and horizontal particle velocity. The streamer array only records
pressure. The receiver group interval is 12.5m for all arrays. The time sampling
interval is 4ms and the recording time for each shot is equal to 5s.
Three dierent subsurface models were used for the modeling, these are
named model 1, model 2 and model 3. All models includes a 200m water layer
at the top and a free surface.
Data les
The data for each model is stored in a number of les les. The les for model
model 1, model 2 and model 3 are summarized in tables 2-4. The data were
generated using the V
p
, V
s
and density models. A simple model for the Thomsen
parameters and are also included, but not used for the data generation.
