In the Name of Allah The Most Gracious, the
Most Merciful
The Meaning of Allah
Allah is the Name of the Lord, the Exalted. It is said that Allah is the Greatest Name of Allah, because it is referred
to when describing Allah by the various attributes. For instance, Allah said,He is Allah, beside Whom La ilaha illa
Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Most
Gracious, the Most Merciful. He is the One free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His
creatures, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah!, (High is He) above all that they associate
as partners with Him. He is Allah the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the
Best Names. All that is in heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the almighty.[Al-Hashr 59:22-24]
Hence, Allah mentioned several of His Names as Attributes for His Name Allah. Similarly, Allah said, And (all) the
Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call Him by them.[on the them."[Al-A'raf 7:180] and, Say (O
Muhammad SAWS): Invoke Allah or invoke the Most Gracious (Allah), by whatever name you invoke Him (it is the
same), for to Him belong the Best Names.[Al-Isra 17:110]
Also, the Two Sahihs recorded that Abu Hurairah R.A. said that the Messenger of Allah SAWS said, Allah has
ninety-nine Names, one hundred minus one, whoever counts (and preserves) them, will enter Paradise.[Fath Al-
Bari 11:218 and Muslim 4:2062] It is also recorded by At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.
The Noble Quran A Miracle from Allah (to Prophet Muhammad SAWS):
And this Quran is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah (Lord of the heavens and the earth).but
it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e., the Taurat (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel)], and a
full explanation of the Book (i.e., laws, decreed for mankind) wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the
Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists.).[Yunus 10:37]
A) Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A., The Prophet SAWS said, There was no Prophet among the Prophets but was
given miracles because of which people had security or had belief, but what I have been given is the Divine
Inspiration which Allah has revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will be more than those of any other
Prophet on the Day of Resurrection.[Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.9, Hadith No.379].
B) Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah R.A. : Some angels came to the Prophet (Muhammad SAWS) while he was
sleeping. Some of them said, he is sleeping. Others said, His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then
they said, There is an example for this companion of yours. One of them said, Then set forth an example for
him.One of them said, He is sleeping. Another said, His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they
said, His example is that of a man who built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter
(messenger) to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter, entered the house and ate of
the bonquet, and whoever did not accept the invitation of the inviter, did not enter the house, nor did he eat of the
banquet. Then the angels said, Interpret this parable to him so that he may understand it. One of them said, He
is sleeping. The others said, His eyesare sleeping but his heart is awake. And then they said, The house
stands for Paradise and the callmaker is Muhammad SAWS and whoever obeys Muhammad, obeys Allah; and
whoever disobeys Muhammad, disobeys Allah. Muhammad separated the people (i.e., through his message, the
good is distinguished from the bad, and the believers from the disbelievers).[Sahih Al-Bukhari,Vol.9, Hadith
No.385]
C) Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A.,Allahs Messenger SAWS said, Both in this world and in the Hereafter, I am the
nearest of all the people to Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary). The Prophetsare paternal brothers; their
mothers are different, but their religion is one (i.e., Islamic Monotheism).[Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol.4, Hadith No.652]
D) It is obligatory to have belief in the Messenger ship of the Prophet (Muhammad SAWS). Narrated Abu Hurairah
R.A. Allahs Messenger SAWS said, By Him (Allah) in Whose Hand Muhammads soul is, there is none from
amongst the Jews and the Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without
believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e., Islamic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of
the (Hell) Fire.[Sahih Muslim, the Book of Faith, Vol.1, Chapter No.24]
5) Allah Will Guard the Quran from Corruption:
Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e., the Quran) and surely, We will guard it (from
corruption).[AlHijr 15:9]
This Verse is a challange to mankind and everyone is obliged to believe in the miracles of thisQuran. It isa clear
fact that more than 1400 years have elapsedand not a single word of this Quran has been changed, although the
disbelievers tried their utmost to change it in every way, but they failed miserably in their efforts. As it is mentioned
in this holy Verse: We will guard it. By Allah! He has guarded it. On the contrary, all the other holy Books [the
Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel).] have been corrupted in the form of additions or subtractions or alterations in
the original text.
