Auditions are like a workshop. If you would like to try for a speaking role you will need to read out loud, although you don't have to learn anything. There is a large cast with speaking roles of different sizes. There will be a Blue and Yellow Team. Show fee is PS60 and paid when you audition. It's only refunded if we don't offer you a part. Tickets Each cast member is expected to sell a minimum of 10 tickets to their family and friends.

Show Fee The show fee is 60 and paid when you audition. Its only refunded if we dont offer you a part. It includes costume hire and rehearsal costs.
It does not include tickets to see the show, shoe hire (5 if required), socks or tights. Script loans (everyone will need one of these) require a 5 returnable deposit paid at your first rehearsal. Production T-shirts will be available, but are not included in the show fee.
Paying the show fee shows a commitment to attend all rehearsals and performances.
To appear in Arabian Nights, you must continue to attend our weekly workshops during the Autumn Term 2014. School Absence All cast members will need to apply for the necessary permission for absence from school, if required. There is no charge for this and it is simple to apply for. We will give you further details about how to do this.
Tickets Each cast member is expected to sell a minimum of 10 tickets to their family and friends.
You will be given a publicity pack (called Bums on Seats) and an Accelerator Offer with reduced ticket prices, to help you do this.
Being entirely unsubsidised, it is ticket sales that allow us to present productions at The Electric and to maintain the show fee at 60.
Chaperones We need one chaperone for every twelve children in the production. Chaperones play a vital part in looking after the cast during the performances. It is also an exciting opportunity to see what goes on backstage to put on the production. Without chaperones the performance cannot go ahead.
We currently have a very small and dedicated group of volunteer chaperones; very few of who actually have children in the production. We desperately need more parents to register.
If were not able to find enough chaperones, we will have no other option than to use professional ones. This would increase the show fee by over 35. If we had enough volunteer chaperones, they would only need to do one or two performances each.
Being a chaperone is enjoyable and rewarding. It can take a little time to register, so if you are interested in registering, please contact your local authority as soon as possible.

Missed Rehearsals
In fairness to everyone, we take attendance at rehearsal very seriously.
If you miss a rehearsal without first discussing it with us, you will lose your role.
We understand that occasionally there is a long
standing commitment or a last minute situation (such as illness) that means there is no other option than to miss a rehearsal.
You can, at our discretion, miss a rehearsal. However, once a rehearsal is missed, a second rehearsal missed for any reason, including illness, will mean a lost role. There is no exception to this.
and Finally ... You must let us know when you audition if you are going to have to miss a rehearsal. We will try, but cannot guarantee to put you in a team thats rehearsing at a different time. Please advise us in writing of your team choice and also the date of the rehearsal that you would have to miss when you audition.
Please Note: Choosing a team reduces your chance of being offered a role and makes casting the production very difficult. Only choose a team if you REALLY have to!
