Course Outline

[4.00 Credit Hours]

Fundamental concepts; Properties of gases and vapours; Laws of thermodynamics and their corollaries. Non-ow and ow processes; Ideal gases
and their cycles. Power cycles, refrigeration cycles and reciprocating
compressors. Second law of thermodynamics: availability, irreversibility
and entropy. Thermodynamic relations and equations of state. Mixtures
of gases and vapours; Psychrometries; Real gases; Fuels and combustion.
