certain aspects of the article M1. Indicators (11) on current and developing trends in 2000-11 in 55
countries:
This article, as well as M2, M3, M4 and M5 elaborate article M1. More precisely, it is analytically
discussed certain aspects of the article M1:
Total investment, % of GDP, averages 2000-12 (From the IMF WEO Database, April, 2013)
FDI, net inflows (in % of GDP), averages 2000-11 (From the WB DataBank, maj 2013)
Unemployment rate, % of total labor force, averages 2000-12 (From the IMF WEO Database, April,
2013)
Current account balance, % of GDP, average 2000-12 (From the IMF WEO Database, April, 2013)
and then combined in:
Investment (domestic and FDI), unemployment, Current account balance - all in correlation with the
growth rates; Integrated rank positions
The aim is multiple:
- To all visitors (readers) analytically present these indicators for their informational and analytical
purposes;
- The comparison of domestic and foreign direct investment to examine whether there is any country
where FDI basic (not just additional) development orientation/ basis;
- To provide an opportunity to identify the correlation of FDI to growth rates, unemployment rates and
rates of surplus / deficit of the current account deficit.
Total investment, % of GDP, averages 2000-12 (From the IMF WEO Database, April,
2013)
Total investment (Percent of GDP): Expressed as a ratio of total investment in current local currency

FDI, net inflows (in % of GDP), averages 2000-11 (From the WB DataBank, maj 2013)
Foreign direct investment, net inflows (% of GDP: Foreign direct investment are the net inflows of
investment to acquire a lasting management interest (10 percent or more of voting stock) in an enterprise
operating in an economy other than that of the investor. It is the sum of equity capital, reinvestment of
earnings, other long-term capital, and short-term capital as shown in the balance of payments. This series
shows net inflows (new investment inflows less disinvestment) in the reporting economy from foreign
investors, and is divided by GDP.

Unemployment rate, % of total labor force, averages 2000-12 (From the IMF WEO
Database, April, 2013)
Unemployment rate (Percent of total labor force): Unemployment rate can be defined by either the
national definition, the ILO harmonized definition, or the OECD harmonized definition. The OECD
harmonized unemployment rate gives the number of unemployed persons as a percentage of the labor
force (the total number of people employed plus unemployed). [OECD Main Economic Indicators, OECD,
monthly] As defined by the International Labour Organization, unemployed workers are those who are
currently not working but are willing and able to work for pay, currently available to work, and have
actively searched for work.
