Penyebab ulkus dekubitu adalah kurangnya mobilitas, kontraktur, spasitas,

berkurangnya fungsi sensorik, paralisis, sensibilitas, malnutrisi, anemia, dan hipoproteinemia.

Selain itu usia yang tua, perawatan dirumah sakit yang lama, orang yang kurus, dan
inkontinensia, merokok, penurunan kesadaran mental dan penyakit kulit lainnya akan
mempermudah terjadinya ulkus dekubitus.(4,6,8 dr scrib)

Adanya Hipoperfusi dan tekanan luka pada lapisan atas kulit di daerah yang dibatasi
eritema dan indurasi. Eitema ini tidak pucat ketika daerah tersebut ditekan dengan spatula
ujung jari atau kaca (Gambar 2).
