This unit is designed to operate on AC or DC (batteries)

AC - This unit has a detachable AC Power cord (included). Insert one side of the AC
Power cord into the AC Jack and the other end into a conveniently located AC outlet
having 120 V 60 Hz.
The AC JACK has a built-in AC/DC switch which automatically disconnects the. Battery
power when the plug is inserted into the Jack.

BATTERY
Open the Battery Compartment located on the rear of the unit and insert four (4) "C"
size batteries (not included) by observing the battery polarity indicated on the rear of the
unit.

NOTE: WEAK OR DEAD BATTERIES MAY SWELL AND LEAK. TO AVOID THIS
OR DAMAGE TO THE UNIT, REMOVE THE BATTERIES WHEN THE UNIT

To safeguard valuable recordings from being erased accidentally, the cassette and the deck

Periodic cleaning of the tape head and capstan is necessary to maintain good reproduc­
tion of sound. The build-up of iron oxide particles, which is often even more severe
with inferior tapes, will reduce the performance of the tape. It is recommended that
after every 100 hou rs of use, Or more often if playback has deteriorated, to clean the
head and capstan.
To clean the head use a cassette head cleaner, available in any record shop.
NOTE: Never use any metal objects on or near the tape head. Do not allow any cleaning
material to fall into tape assembly. Do not use carbon tetrachloride as a cleaning
agent.
