General investigation: for some purpose, do investigation on all
objects
population: all objects need to be investigated
individual: each single object
advantages and disadvantages of general investigation
get more information we need, with more workload
too many objects
impossible to investigate all objects
some investigations are destructive
Sampling investigation: do investigation on some randomly chosen
objects
sample: some objects chosen from population
To get more accurate result, the samples we choose must be:
representative, universality
