Davide Balliano (Torino, 1983) lives and works in New York.

Through a sober and minimal use of different media (drawing,
painting, sculpture and performance) his artistic research delves
deeply into the most hidden aspects of the human mind, revealing
their fragile structures and contradictions.

He had solo exhibitions at Galerie Rolando Anselmi (Berlin,
2012), Nico Vascellari's project space Codalunga (Vittorio
Veneto/Italy, 2012), Marc De Puechredon Gallery (Zurich, 2011),
at The Artists Space (New York, 2009) curated by Marina Abramovic
as part of her series of long durational performative exhibition
"When time becomes form", and at Jarach Gallery (Venice/Italy,
2009).

He's work has been presented at the Baryshnikov Art Center (New
York, 2012), Madre Museum (Naples, 2012), The Watermill Center of
Robert Wilson (South Hampton, 2009/2011), Ps1 Contemporary Art
Center (New York, 2010), Sean Kelly Gallery (New York, 2010),
EACC Museum (Castellon/Spain, 2010), Plymouth Art Center
(Plymouth/UK, 2010) Via Farini (Milan, 2009/2010), ISCP (New
York, 2009) and Kitakyushu Biennial ( Kitakyushu/Japan, 2007).

His portfolio has been exhibited in 2010 as part of the Archive
of Via Farini in the context of the event "NO SOULS FOR SALE" at
the Tate Modern Gallery in London.

He's been in residence at Fabrica (Treviso/Italy, 2004/2005), at
the Watermill Center (South Hampton/NY, 2009/2011) and he's one
of the winner of the AOL Award 2010.
He's been part of the 2012 Kempinsky Art Programme and he's
currently in the final selection of the Moroso Award.
