4: Now, thinking about hospitals for a few minutes...There have been a lot of hospitals and hospital companies merging over the
past few years. Some people say that hospital mergers are a good thing for healthcare. Bringing hospitals together will create
eciencies enable a larger hospital to oer more services, ultimately allowing providers to give better quality care. Others say
hospital mergers are a bad thing for healthcare. Creating larger hospitals and hospital companies will reduce competition and
allow hospitals to raise their prices, increasing the already high cost of healthcare. What do you think? Do you think hospital
mergers are a good thing or a bad thing for the healthcare industry?
