The Multiple Intelligence test helped me acquire knowledge about a few new things regarding
myself. According to the test, I scored very high in Kinesthetic !ody "mart# $ which signifies
that you might as well be body smart. "ports are your favorite pastime and you e%cel at
swimming, athletics, gymnastics and other genres of sports. It is also referred to as being
Kinesthetic smart. &aturalistic &ature "mart# $ It signifies that you might be nature smart.
'lants and animals fascinate you, and you love to study them. It is sometimes referred to as
&aturalistic smart. Intrapersonal Myself "mart# $ signals that you may be in (the myself( smart
category. )ou will have in*depth knowledge about yourself, your strong points as well as the
week ones. Keeping a diary is one of your identifying traits. This is what people refer to as
Intrapersonal smart. +isual,"patial 'icture "mart# $ means that you might be (picture smart.(
)ou should e%cel in art and in similar activities. )ou see pictures in a similar fashion to maps as
reading, finding your way out of ma-es and graphs fascinates you. I categori-e myself as a visual
person since I love to watch things. This is referred to as being +isual,"patial smart. I was not
taken aback by the poor score because the fact that I am not .inguistic /ord "mart# or .ogical
&umber "mart# person is well known to me. I often find it difficult to e%plain myself. Also I
dislike math or anything related to numbers. 0owever, I was surprised by the Interpersonal
'eople "mart# score. If you are people smart, you will find it easy to mingle with other people.
)ou will also 1oin a lot of clubs. I always figured that I was a people person since I like team
games very much. It is due to this fact that the low score in this field shocked me.
How will the results impact your own choices for learning?
The test helped my take a fresh look at how I need to modify the way I learn and teach things
right now. I should try harder to connect with the students on an emotional level and should try
to provide them with support.
Do you believe your education would have been improved if your own teachers had
differentiated instruction based on your multiple intelligences?
It is my firm belief that if differentiated instruction was put into place, I could have learned a lot
more in math and social sciences. A group of students could have been formed, myself included,
to go through problems like how to measure, calculate, and analy-e. It is my regret that I am not
very good in this field of learning.
What influence do the theories of multiple intelligence have on differentiated instruction?
A positive effect should be e%pected out of this since the teacher2s view on changes to the
curriculum and communication with the students depend on learning the students2 emotional bias
and tendencies.
Do you believe that learning improves when it is tailored to learning preferences, or does it
just mae learning more enjoyable?
/hen you incorporate learning preferences with the view to making learning fun, the whole
learning process becomes immensely effective. It ensures a great e%perience for you and the
students equally.
Can lessons be engaging without being differentiated for learning preferences? Why or why
not?
3ifferentiation should not be applied in all lessons. Teachers like us should employ out creativity
to make the teaching fun. 4or e%ample, since I teach preschoolers, my teaching plan may include
planting vegetables. 4or children who like digging and others who like planting seeds and water,
it should be real fun. As far as the children who don2t like either are concerned, they could be
told to make charts on the time it takes for the seeds to sprout.
