The 4010 bringsSimplexGrinnells
leading-edge technology to small- and
medium-sized installations. The systems
reliability, modularity, expandabilityand
connectivitywith network systemsmeans
it will serve your needstodayand well
into the future.
The 4010 TrueAlarm System
the perfect choice for new
installations and for upgrades.

FI RE
When time, money and
reliability matter
UL listed and FM approved, having met
strict standardsfor safetyand performance.
Code compliant. M eetsNational
Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
standards, ensuring quick acceptance
by local officials.
Fast delivery and setup time gives
you the edge in meeting on-time
occupancy deadlines.
Lower cost addressable system offers
more safety than a less-than-the-
best non-addressable system.
Automatic, intelligent maintenance
featuresmean a trouble-free system
with low maintenance costs.
The Simplex 4010 TrueAlarm system from
SimplexGrinnell usesthe latest detection
and notification technology. Previously,
because of time and cost limitations,
many facilitieshad to accept second
best, installing costlynon-addressable
systemswith limited functionality. No
longer. Now, contractorscan install the
addressable 4010 system with intelligent
featuresthat reduce long-term costs.
The 4010 will handle up to 250 intelli-
gent analog and addressable points
(smoke sensors, heat sensorsand manu-
al stations). To reduce maintenance, the
system comeswith numerousadvanced
features, including: automatic drift com-
pensation to compensate for ambient
conditions; automatic sensor sensitivity
checking to reduce maintenance; dirty
trouble maintenance alerts; and device
TrueAlarm 4010 systemsoffer cost-
effective fire alarm control. These
systemsprovide earlyand accurate fire
detection and reporting. Earlywarning
givespeople time to leave the building
and allowsan earlyfire response to
minimize building damage.
Building operator advantages
Cost saving T-Tap wiring
The latest technologyin wiring isused
to connect all sensing points. New wiring,
and point replacement or modification,
can be accomplished quicklyand inex-
pensively. So you save at installation
and over the life cycle of your system.
Faster occupancy
Acceptance by local fire officialsis
assured asthe 4010 iscode compliant
with NFPA 72. It isalso compliant with
state and local codes. The system isUL
listed and FM approved. Notification
appliancesare ADA (Americanswith
DisabilitiesAct) compliant with synchro-
nousstrobe and multiple sound options.
Addressable analog system
Analog sensing isused to identify each
point to the control panel. Each heat
and smoke sensor isconstantly moni-
tored for alarm statusor maintenance
condition. Sensor measurementsare
converted from their analog levelsto a
patented SimplexGrinnell
protocol and
communicated via a secure communica-
tionspath to the control panel.
System status displays
Critical TrueAlarm system information is
immediatelydisplayed on an 80-character
LCD display. System statusinformation
isclearlydescribed, identified and easy
to understand.
False alarms averted
The 4010 system featuresdrift compen-
sation that clearly identifieswhen a
smoke sensor becomes almost dirty
and requirescleaning before the sensor
driftsbeyond itsselected sensitivity. A
review of the front-panel display or the
printed statusreport quickly identifies
sensorsthat need cleaning aswell as
the onesthat dont. Sensitivity selection
isbacked by hard data. Peak measure-
mentsfor each sensor are stored in
memory at the control panel.
Selectable sensitivity levels
Variousenvironmentsmay require differ-
ent sensitivity settings. For example, the
sensitivitysetting for a controlled environ-
ment such asa computer room will
differ from the setting required in a
schoolroom or manufacturing area.
