HOW DO NATURAL DISASTERS AFFECT

OUR WORLD?

Natural disasters affect our world in many ways. It can cause many injuries and lots of harm
to living things, theres lots of type of disasters. Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, volcanic
eruptions and lots of other things that can make people ill, like epidemics, and harm.
Disasters destroy our world by making dirty environments, destroy lots of houses and
damage the plants and animals.
Earthquakes affect our world by destroying our land features and making lots of holes in
our land. Floods can affect houses and people, tsunamis are like floods because it can flash
people, houses and other living things, but floods drawn people by rain or rivers spreading
by rain. Volcanic eruptions can affect people and damage beautiful views and extinguish lots
of houses and living things as well as destroying their families, their homes and separating
them.

TSUNAMIS
A tsunami is a series of huge waves that can wipe out more than a city. The word tsunami
comes from the Japanese
language meaning Harbor
Wave. Tsunamis are created
when disturbance in the sea
floor, increases its wave height
as it enters shallow waters
resulting into a great force on
human structures once it
reaches the shore. A tsunami
occurs when water, such as an
ocean, is affected by an
earthquake, volcanic eruptions,
or any massive movement underwater. Lituga Boy Alaska
The highest the tsunami ever recorded was in Lituga Boy Alaska 1958 500m high. It
destroyed all the people or living things, all the buildings, including the beaches. On April 24,
1771 great Yaeyama tsunami. The highest the tsunami ever recorded was in Lituga Boy

increase in height. If the earthquake is powerful enough, the sudden movement of the
ocean floor at a high level plate boundary can cause the water above to serge upwards then
fall back and repeat the same process. The energy created then battles under the surface of
the water and forms the series of waves, known as a wave train, of a tsunami. When you
feel like a tsunami is coming soon make sure you take a safety place and make a plan for
what you are going to need for this attack. A tsunami is a destructive wave.

EARTHQUAKES
An earthquake is a result of a
sudden release of energy in the
earths crust that creates
seismic waves (shock wave in
ocean). They are earths natural
means of releasing stress. An
earthquake is also described as
a sudden movement of the
crust of the earth which
originates from under or on top
of the top. There are about 20
plates along the surface of the
earth that move continuously
and slowly past each other.
When the plates squeeze or stretch, huge rocks from at their edges and the rocks shift with
great force, causing an earthquake.
The biggest earthquake in the UK for nearly 25 years has shaken homes across large parts of
the country happened in February 2008.lots of people was injured, and lots, lots were dead.
Houses were damaged and destroyed.

DROUGHT
Drought is unusual dryness of soil, resulting in crop disaster and need more water for other
uses, caused by meaningfully lower rainfall than normal over a long period. Hot dry winds,
high warm temperatures and
following evaporation of
vapour from the ground can
give conditions of drought.
In 1900, Indias hotness killing
between 250,000 to 3.25
million. In 2006, states of
Australia including South
Australia, Western Australia,
New South Wales, Northern Territory and Queensland had been under drought conditions
for five to ten years. The drought is beginning to affect urban area population for first time.
With the popular of the country under water borders.
We can see from this and we can learn that we must put a plan to be prepared and pray to
have water.
