Overview
Xnets Clothed DSL is a full line speed broadband connection that runs over your existing home or business phone line and
is available to most line rental holders throughout NZ.
A normal home or small business with Broadband will look something like this:
Broadband is defined as a high speed Internet connection (256kbps or more) that allows you to surf the Internet, get your
email and download files at up to 50 times the speed of standard Dial-Up connections. Internet speeds greater than
256kbps are defined as Broadband, which is approximately up to 6 times faster than a normal Dial-Up connection.
*Please Note: Full Line Speed (FLS) refers to as fast as the physical line will go.

Xnet Usage Monitor:
Xnet was the first ISP in NZ to offer customers a FREE desktop application, giving you a real time look at your monthly Inter-
net usage. The usage monitor allows customers to track how much data they are using each month, and so you can choose
how much to spend each month, or how much data youll think youll use. If you dont use all of your data during the month
we will only charge you for what you use. If you reach your capped limit, you will be slowed down to Dial-Up speed for the
remainder of the month, or you can add more data and your full speed will be restored!

If more than 4 phone jacks and/or a monitored alarm are in use

Rather than buying blocks of data, the HSI Pay Per MB data usage profile allows you to set your budget and only pay for
the data you use at $1.28 per Gig. You have complete control over your data usage and monitoring!
Up to 5 Email Aliases:
With Xnet you can have up to 5 Email addresses coming to the same mailbox. So if you are a family or a small business
everyone can have their own email address. Or you could have multiple email identities for yourself; use one for formal
emails and one with a nickname for emails with friends. You can create your own aliases and send from these addresses!
Always On Service:
Surf the Internet AND talk on the phone, at the same time! The Xnet HSI Broadband service is Always On which means
you are always connected. You can do all the browsing, uploading, downloading and email you want faster.
100 MB of Email Storage:
If this is not enough storage for you the opportunity to purchase more is available. Just ring one of our friendly staff on 0800

Webmail:
Access your Email from anywhere! Our free Webmail service means you can access your email from anywhere in the world.
Be sure to add friends, family and colleagues contact information and email addresses to your Webmail and youll have
everything at your fingertips, allowing you to stay in touch wherever you are around the globe.
Email Virus Protection:
We maintain and update our Email Virus Protection service to keep your emails safe and sound 24/7, 365. Thats 24hrs a
day, 7 days a week for 365 days of the year!

A tele-permitted ADSL modem/router is required
onsite at the customer premise in order for Xnet HSI
Broadband to work. Please ensure that the instruc-
tions provided with the hardware are followed to set
up the device;
HSI = High Speed Internet
Kbps = Kilobits per second
MB = Megabyte
GB = Gigabyte
FLS = Full Line Speed (as fast as the physical line
will allow)
