Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is the Philippines' leading wireless services provider with 54.2
million subscribers on its GSM network as of end-2012.
A wholly owned subsidiary of the countrys dominant telecommunications carrier, the Philippine Long
Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), Smart and its subsidiaries operate a nationwide cellular network, a
wireless broadband service, a satellite phone service, and mobile commerce services.
Smart has the most extensive and modern digital communications GSM network and infrastructure in
the countryoperating 10,509 cell sites, 13,149 cellular/mobile broadband base stations, and 2,806
fixed wireless broadband-enabled base stations, covering all of the country's 1,634 cities and
municipalities.
Smart offers the widest array of cellular service brands designed to address the needs of different
market segments. Its subsidiary Smart Broadband, Inc. (SBI) offers a wireless broadband service, Smart
BRO, with over 1.73 million subscribers as of end-2012.
Smart has built a reputation for innovation, having introduced world-first wireless services, including
Smart Money, Smart Load, Smart Padala, the Netphone, and Smart LTE the worlds first multi-band
LTE service. Smart also offers 3G and HSPA+ services. Its Smart Link service provides communications to
the international maritime industry.




History

Anticipating the liberalization of the telecommunications industry in the Philippines in 1992, Smart (then
named Smart Information Technology, Inc.) was organized in January 24, 1991 by a group of Filipino
investors led by Orlando B. Vea and David T. Fernando.

The Company obtained its congressional franchise in April 1992 and was granted a provisional authority
to operate a mobile cellular service in May 1993. In December 1993, Smart commenced commercial
operations of its cellular service.

By then, Smart had drawn in partners. These were: First Pacific, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate
through its Philippine flagship Metro Pacific Investments Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and
Telephone of Japan (NTT).

In compliance with the governments telecommunications program, Smart established a local exchange
service in the cities and provinces assigned to it under the service area scheme. The Company also
obtained licenses to provide international gateway, paging and inter-carrier transmission services. [3]

On March 24, 2000, PLDT completed its share-swap acquisition of Smart, making Smart a 100%-owned
PLDT subsidiary.

In December 5, 2006 Smart Communications became a member of Conexus Mobile Alliance for
international roaming.

The store guard and the promodiser assisted and guided me on how to
handle customer during their entrance to the store

Photocopying files is a simple but a very necessary job for the firm because front
liners were very busy in handling customer complaints and wants





I ensured that I did my job properly and I took care of the files which is
supposed to be updated always


I followed the FIFO (First in First out) in filing because the firms want this to
countercheck some files

My OJT Experience (Report)
My experience in my 200 hours on the job training is very helpful. For
November 14, 2013 to February 5, 2014, I discovered on how a business
organization operates .Although I was busy at school form my other subjects, I
still ensure that I did my job properly.
I had also my orientation with my manager in which we talked about the
history of the company, the rules to follow and the benefits. One of the reason
why I choose Smart because they teaching telemarketing to their OJT students.
Actually at first it is really hard to talk with the clients because customers
always complaining in nature whereas customer is always right so it is a must to
provide a quality service for them.
I am introvert in nature but I learn on how to be an extrovert which is one
of the good qualities of being a marketer. I commonly do the task and
responsibility of filling, typing and Xeroxing.
I learned on how to be flexible too because some members of the
organization was on their shifting schedule thats why I encountered a lot of
personalities from them.
Even the task may sometimes make me stress but I still did my best for
every single task that I render because every simple task is necessary in a
business operation. Our manager Mrs.Flordeliza Autor, did her job on
motivating me as a student to have a core values in performing responsibilities
into a business firm. I really treasure my OJT experience as one of the happiest
day of my life.
