TheteachinglanguagesatHECParisareEnglishandFrench.Studentsstudythemandatory
managementcoursesinM1yearinEnglishandstudentshavingagoodlevelinFrenchmaytake
electivesinFrench.
NonFrenchspeakingstudentsarerequiredtostudyaFrenchlanguagecourseduringthefirstsemester
ofM1andmaycontinuethewholeyearandthesecondyearifthescheduleallowsit.Allstudentsare
offeredtotaketheFrenchCEFtestatalllevels.

Whendoesthecompanyinternship
takeplace?
TograduatefromHECMasterinManagementGrandeEcole,studentsmustvalidateaminimumof30
weeksofinternship.Studentswhoalreadyhavepreviousmanagementrelatedwork/internship
experiencemayapplyforpartialexemptionuptoamaximumof15weeks.Ingeneralstudentstake
advantageoftheGapYeartocompletetheinternshiprequirementbutmayalsoworkinsummer
betweentheMaster1andMaster2yearandcompletetheremainingrequirementaftertheMaster2
year.
HECdoesnotfindinternshipsforeachstudentbuttheclose
linkstothecorporateworldwithprestigiouscompaniesandthe
reputationoftheSchoolareuseful.TheHECCareerservicesalso
organizesspecificinternship/jobfairs,coordinatesthejob
intranet,organizespecificseminarsallovertheyearandoffers
personalcoachingtostudents.

WhatistheGapYear?Isit
mandatory?
TheGapYear,aoneyearbreakbetweenMaster1andMaster2,isnotmandatorybutisanoptionthat
mostofthestudentschoose.Thisisauniqueopportunitytospendoneyearintheworkplaceinorder
togainprofessionalexperienceandextraexposureonyourCV.Itisalsoanopportunitytotest'a
particularfieldofactivity,atimetoconsiderchangingcareerandgoalsandtothinkaboutyourchoice
ofspecialization.Somespecializationsrequirealeastoneinternshipinthefieldofthespecialization
beforethestartoftheprogram.
