CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of Study
One of the company's activities that produce oil, gas and
geothermal drilling is executing , the activity make a hole in the layer
of earth that oil , gas or geothermal energy contained in it can be
removed and produced with good , effective , efficient and safe , and
environmentally friendly.
As it is known that petroleum was found at various depths with
pressure and temperature .The deeper the reservoir , the greater the
pressure and temperature .Differences in pressure and temperature
conditions at the surface and in the reservoir and the reservoir
pressure drops when the produced oil will affect the phase of the oil ,
whether petroleum gaseous , liuid or solid .
Oil and gas is one of the natural resources that are the source
of energy is very important that existence beneath the earth's
surface. !ecause of the importance of the need for oil as an energy
source then attempt to exploit it. "n the business needs, the company
carrying out activities aimed to increase the production of oil and gas.
#xploration drilling aimed to make a hole wells safely and
economically to achieve formations containing hydrocarbon reserves.

drilling activities .$amely power system %horse power system& , the lift

)any activities in the petroleum industry and the steps taken to
increase the production of oil and gas, for example, search for new
wells %exploration& which then following with drilling activities and
reactivation of old wells that allow production to be done again.
(earch efforts %#xploration& and the retrieval %#xploitation& oil is still
continue, because the reserves were found in terms of the uantity is
very limited in number while the number of consumer needs continue
to increase.
