Colours and finishes
A wide variety of Kalzip surface finishes offers maximum
creative freedom to planners and architects.
Colour-coated Kalzip aluminiumproducts
meet these extreme demands and are
the result of the most advanced surface
finishing technologies.
Modern building technology makes
great demands on the weather and
corrosion resistance of the materials
involved with regards to colour fastness,
adhesion and resistance against
aggressive substances.
Kalzip profiled sheets and their
accessories are offered in a wide variety
of standard RAL colours. On demand,
special colours can be supplied too. The
customer has the choice between high
quality polyester or PVdF coatings.
Profiled sheets can also be powder-coated
upon request. Profiled sheets can be
supplied with a self-adhesive protective
foil on top of the coated surface.
Production surveillance according to
stringent quality standards guarantees a
uniform coating thickness.
A PVdF or polyester coating in 25m
thickness and a 5mwashcoat (underside)
is typically applied.

The coil-coated aluminium material runs
through many fastidious processing cycles.
The coils are pretreated and then coated
in the desired shade of colour. Aluminium
sheets with one side colour coatings are
fitted with a protective coating on the rear
side. Only high quality polyester or PVdF
based stoving enamels are being used.
Important criteria are: hue, brilliance,
coating thickness, hardness, adhesion,
and plasticity of the colour coating. Further
characteristics are subject to special tests
such as acid salt spray test, ultraviolet-B
light exposure, condensate climate test
under a sulphur dioxide atmosphere as
well as free exposure to weathering in an
aggressive environment.
FalZinc - Foldable aluminium with a zinc surface
Using the patented PEGAL-process, a pre-weathered zinc
layer encases the foldable aluminium core, giving the
surface high weather resistance and a mid-grey shading
consistent with 3-year old natural zinc (dependant on roof
pitch and atmosphere).

TitanSilver - Anodized foldable aluminium
TitanSilver offers a different colour and appearance to that
of traditional zinc, providing an alternative to painted material
in RAL 9006 or even stainless steel. The surface treatment
of TitanSilver is fingerprint resistant and easier to roll form
due to the anodizing process and smoothness of the
surface applied.
The oxidising process is comparatively slower than that of
zinc and the weather resistant surface will not wash off or
pollute rainwater.

Kalzip profiled sheets are also available
in a stucco-embossed noncolour
coated version.
Their natural metal finish is originated
by treating the sheets with additional
embossing rollers. The process produces
a very tough surface texture hiding minor
mechanical damages which may occur
during installation of the sheets.
Furthermore, the surface diffuses light,
reducing reflectivity and glare. After
prolonged weathering, the original
Kalzip AluPlusZinc is a noble, technically
exacting material featuring a matt zinc
patinated finish. The timeless esthetical
character of the zinc patina pre-exposed
to weathering opens a wide scope of
applications with prestigious buildings
especially in city locations.
The zinc patina is applied onto the
aluminium core by means of the patented
PEGAL-process. This patina is stabilizes
by means of an additional surface
treatment producing a very good protection
against the influences of weathering.
Kalzip AluPlusZinc profiled sheets are
generally supplied with a self-adhesive
protective foil.
