Day One
In the shadow of Mont Blanc
lies Les Houches, where our
journey begins. In this small
town, just due south of
Chamonix, is where we will
have our welcome dinner and
drinks, as well as spend the
evening in a quaint hotel.
Day Two
Were off! From the Bellevue
cable car, well ride up to the
ridge where we can see Les
Houches, the peaks
surrounding Mont Blanc, and
the Arve river. Well hike our
way to the family-run Chalet
de Miage where we will stay
the night.
Day Three
A short climb begins our day. After
reaching the plateau, well hike past the
striking peaks of the Aiguille du Glacier
and Tre-la-Tete. This evening, our home
will be one of the oldest inns in the
region.
Day Four
We begin one of our longest treks with an
easy climb along a trail where the sounds
of cowbells and whistling mermots echo
all around. Once we reach the Col du
Bonhomme and a French Alpine Club,
well descend into the tiny hamlet of Les
Chapieux.
Day Five
After a short mini-bus ride to Villes-des-Glaciers, we
will take a tour of a petit Beaufort cheese factory. We
then cross the Col de la Seigne where we can stand in
both France and Italy at the same time. We take a
long, calm descent to the town of Courmayeur.
Day Six
With a hearty meal in our bellies, we
make our way down old towns cobble
stone streets. We steeply climb up to
the Mont de la Saxe, which soars
above Courmayeur.
Day Seven
From the ridge we sink down to
the Val Ferret briefly before
ascending to the Rifugio Elena
the place of the worlds best hot
cocoa. After the pass, we make
our way away from Italy and
enter Switzerland arriving at
Champex-Lac.
Day Eight
Through forests and meadows,
we follow the Bovine trail
amongst the lazy herds of cows
from Val Herens. Lunch is had in
a small hut surveying the Rhone
Valley where Romans first
introduced vineyards over two
millenniums ago. We stay the
evening in Col de la Forclaz.
Day Nine
We are presented on our
last day with the Massif
du Mont Blanc, Col de
Balme, and our final
destination is the village
of Le Tour. We celebrate
our journey and bid
each other farewell at
dinner in our hotel
located in the Chamonix
valley.
Day Ten
Our adventure ends
after breakfast and then
back to the real world.

sights and unique tours but also:
