SPECIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANT TRACKING SYSTEM
SEPTEMBER 22, 2003

Overview
Applicant tracking system is a web based solution for pre-screening the applicants when applying
for a position at Nabors. The screening questions will be based on the position being applied for.
Based on the questionnaire setup, the setup identifies the knock out questions and determines if
the applicant has passed or failed the test.

Authentication
The Win2k user name and password is used for authentication for Managers only. The
applicants will be required to register and create their own user name and password.

Access Levels
The access levels are defined as below
Manager Can retrieve any applicant data.

Login
The login screen is applicable only for the applicants. If the applicant has been registered, login
can be done using the user name, email id and password. If not, the Register here link will
enable the applicant to register and create the user name and password. The login screen is as
shown below in Fig 1.

Clicking on the New Applicants Register here link, the registration form as shown in Fig 2 is
displayed. When clicked on Forgot your password click here, a popup window to enter their
password clue is displayed. If the clue matches, the password is sent to the user via email. Enter
the user name and password and clicking on Submit launches the home page as shown in Fig 3.

The information entered in this screen is attached to the profile of the applicant. All the fields
except the middle name are required. The combination of user name, password, email id and zip
code should be unique. After entering the data and clicking on Submit validates the data for the
existence of the user, If not, the user name is saved and the home page as shown in Fig 3 is
displayed.

Home Page
After the successful login or registration, the home as shown below is displayed. This enables to
determine the type of job the applicant is looking for.

The menu options available are
My Account Enables the user to save a copy of the resume and edit them. Resume is valid for
6 months.
Build Resume This enables the applicant to either upload or create a resume online.
Edit Resume This enables the applicant to edit the previously created resume.
Search This enables the applicant to search for any open job
Submit an application This enables the applicant to submit an application for a specific job or
general application.
Logout Logs out of the application

Selecting either of the job category, determines the screening questions. Selecting a job category
and clicking Next displays the Employment Application Form as shown in Fig 4.

SEARCH

The initial screen is the terms and conditions. If the applicant selects NO, then they have to
either just submit a resume or logout. Cannot search for jobs and apply for the same. If clicked
yes, the next screen as shown in Fig 5 is displayed.
The personal information is populated from the registration information and it can be modified. If
the permanent address is same as the present address, checking the Same as Above box will
populate the address. The fields marked as required must be entered. Clicking on the Next link,
displays the next screen in the application process. This employment application needs to be
filled in only once by the applicant. From there onwards, the applicant has to take up the
screening test for the different positions being applied for.

Clicking on the Dispute Resolution Program displays the popup window with the details. Clicking
on the browse for the positions displays the positions that can be applied for. The list of positions
is displayed as shown in Fig 7. After entering the data and clicking on the Submit link, saves the
data and displays the screening tests screen. The test depends on the positions selected as

preferences. If nothing is entered as preference, the questions related to the type selected in the
home page, (drilling, trucking or well servicing related questions).

The positions lookup displays the list of positions available for the applicant to choose.

The positions depend on the type selected in the home page (drilling, trucking or well servicing
related questions). Multiple positions can be selected. Clicking on the position name hyperlink the
description about the position will be displayed as shown in Fig 8. Selecting the positions and
clicking submit adds the positions to the main screen from where it was called.

screens. This screen is for information purposes only.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
CREW CHIEF
The Crew Chief runs and operates the well servicing unit and is responsible for performing
services on oil adn gas wells as specified by the customer and or well operator. The duties of
the Crew Chief may include driving the crew truck and well service rig, assisting in rigging up/
down, and operating the rig and its components as necessary. All duties are performed
according to the Company operating procedures in order t omaximize the safety of all
personnel at the work site adn to efficiently perform the task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - VERY HEAVY LABOR
1. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, while working either indoors or outdoors.
2. While performing the job, the Crew Chief will be required to lift/carry, pull/push, reach,
squat, kneel, and or climb ladders or stairs.
3. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying environmental
conditions. This may include chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise, dampness, dust, fumes,
radiation and heights. Exposure to the above conditions should be handled as prescribed in
the Company's Accident Prevention Handbook and/or the Company's Standard Operating
Procedures.

Clicking on the Close will close this window.

Screening Test
The very first screen in the screening test will display all the generic test questions. The questions
will be marked as knock out while setting up. So if the applicant fails to answer those questions
they have to be rejected immediately. After the user answers the knock out question, a popup
window as shown in Fig 10 will be displayed to confirm the answer. The initial screen is as shown
in Fig 9 below.

The answers are saved for each applicant against the questions. Clicking Continue will display
the next set of questions in a different page similar to this one. 20 questions will be displayed in
each page. The consecutive pages will have the previous and the next links and the last page will
have the Submit link (fig 9a). The questions are set by the admin using the interface available.
The questions will be stored in the database.

Search
The search screen (Fig 11) will be displayed when the search menu is selected. This provides the
option to search for a job with specific requirements.

The positions can be selected from the list using the browse. The positions list as shown in Fig 7.
The browse for the locations will display the location listing similar to that of the positions. The
locations browse will be as shown in Fig 20. After entering the search criteria and clicking on
submit, will display the search results as shown in Fig 12.

Build Resume
The application provides an option to either build the resume using this application or upload a
document. When uploading a document, it should be either in word or text document format.
When selected to build the resume, the resume builder as shown in Fi g 15 is displayed. The build
resume screen is displayed when selected from the menu option and it is as shown in Fig 14
below.

Resume Builder
This screen is displayed when Build your own link is clicked in the Build resume screen. The
layout is as shown in Fig 15 below. The resume is divided into different sections like personal
information, education, employment history etc. Multiple entries can be added in the education
and employment history section. All the fields are mandatory in this screen. There should be at
least one entry for the education and employment history section. When clicked on Add link in
each of the section, the corresponding popup window will be displayed and the data can be
entered and saved. Fig 27 displ ays the Employment history popup window where in the data can
be entered. Clicking submit link saves the data to the main screen.

This screen enables the applicant to enter the preferences, references and the summary. Clicking
submit, saves the resume. This resume will be valid for 6 months from the date of submission and
can be edited.

This menu option enables the applicant to edit the resume. When clicked on this menu option the
screens shown in Fig 15 and 16 will be displayed with the data that was entered.

The applicants can be searched based on different search criteria like the position, location,
employment type, company and/or the screening results. Entering the search criteria and clicking
on submit displays the search result screen as shown in Fig 18 below.

Clicking on the name or clicking on the Select link will display the applicant resume (fig 19), if
there is one. Clicking on the job code or position displays the appropriate descriptions. Clicking
on the Print Summary link prints the search results in the PDF. Clicking on Print with Details link
exports the search results to the PDF with the resume of each of the applicant. Print custom
reports link will display a screen to specify the criteria, compare applicants profile and the PDF
will be generated. The layout has not been decided yet.

the validate applicant screen as shown in screen Fig 25.

Validate Applicant
This screen enables the admin users to validate an applicant and select for employment. The
screen layout is as shown in Fig 25 below.

The reviewer can enter their comments and the data is saved. The data entered will be saved
against the reviewer and the summary will be updated in the comments section so that it will be
available for the other reviewers to have a look at it.

Administrator Options
The administrators have the option to set up the master data. The master data includes all the
static texts that are being displayed in the application. They include employment agreement, job
descriptions, position descriptions, master list of locations and the questionnaire.

Employment Agreement
The employment agreement details entered in this screen will be displayed in Fig 4. The data
entry screen is as shown in fig 21 below

Setting the inactive flag will not display the message in the appropriate screen where it is
referred. Entering the details and clicking submit saves the data.

Position Description
This screen enables the user to add a new position and enter the description at the same time.
The screen is as shown below.

The category drop down will be filled with the categories like Drilling, well servicing and trucking
etc. Sub will be filled with all the Nabors subsidiaries. Based on this category and sub the
positions will be added. Selecting Add new from the dropdown enables, add new data entry
where in the new position can be added. The associated description can be entered in the
description field. The inactive flag will control the display of the positions in the browse windows
wherever referred. Entering the data and clicking on submit saves the data.

Locations
This screen enables the admin to add the locations for a particular category sub and position. The
layout is as shown in Fig 23 below. Multiple locations can be added for the selected category and
position. Entering the location and clicking on Add adds the location to the list. The added
locations can be removed by checking the remove column and clicking on the Remove at the
bottom. When inactive flag at the bottom is selected all the locations for the selected category
and position will be disabled.

Job Code and Descriptions
When this menu option is selected, the job codes can be set for a selected category, sub, position
and location. The screen layout is as shown below. Jobs can be made inactive by setting the flag.
The job description entered will be displayed in the popup window that is displayed on clicking on
the job code hyperlink. Clicking on submit saves the data.

Questions
When questions menu is selected from the menu, the below shown screen (fig 25) will be
displayed. This enables the admin to setup the questions based on the category, sub and
position. Location is optional. The answers can either be yes or no or multiple choices or direct
entry. When it is direct entry, the applicant has to enter directly in the space provided. Answers
have to be set for each of the questions. The complete question and answers can be made
inactive by selecting the flag at the bottom. Checking the knock out flag enables the application to
determine the knock out question.
