General Guidelines for summer internship application

1. There is no application fee.
2. Only those candidates appearing in the 3
rd
Year of their B.E./B.Tech degree in
Mechanical Engineering are eligible for this program.
3. Candidates are kindly requested to contact faculty members in the Dept. of
Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, for their consent as supervisor and can
identify possible projects for summer training prior to their application. Candidates
having consent from the supervisor can send the Application Form mentioning the
name of the supervisor with proof of endorsement from them along with a letter of
reference from the HOD of parent University/Institution and the same must be
submitted before the last date of application.
4. Only softcopies (word or pdf) of application form, proof of endorsement from
supervisor at IITG and scanned copies of letter of reference will be accepted. The
documents should be sent to cmsomayaji@iitg.ernet.in on or before 15
th

March 2013.
5. Incomplete applications NOT in the prescribed format without the name of the
supervisor, proof of endorsement, letter of reference from the parent Institute are
liable to be rejected.
6. Important Dates

7. Candidates may stay in the hostels within IITG Campus, which will be allotted as per
Institutes rules.
8. Any change of address should be communicated at once to the office of Mechanical
