The TS981 digital control panel allows

easy and rapid setting of limit switch
positions and door parameters from
ground level.
The features of the TS981 include a
smoke curtain/ smoke retaining position,
dedicated traffic light relays with 2-way
traffic control option, monitored safety
devices for high level anti-trapping and
two additional relay outputs for turning
on/off or interlocking other equipment.
The airlock module interlocks two
doors. The second door is automatically
opened 0 10 seconds, adjustable,
after the first door closes removing the
need for Open push buttons or sensors
within the airlock. The control panel also
has a status-monitoring module
allowing door status information to be
displayed at remote locations.
As with the other Guthrie Douglas
controls the TS981 includes as standard,
a programmable door maintenance
indicator. This allows the installer to set
a maintenance interval to suit the door
and its application of between 1000 to
99000 operations on completion of
which the control will tell the customer
that the door needs servicing.
Simplifying on-site
installation
The TS981 has simple plug-in connections
for the motor, digital limits, safety edge,
slack wire and pass door switches.
The motor and digital limits are connected
to the TS981 by a protected cable
available in 3, 5, 7, 9 and 13m lengths.
The TS981 automatically recognises three
types of safety edge: Normally closed
with 1K2 resistor (air switch, tested
every cycle), Normally open with 8K2
resistor (contract strip, monitored) and
the Fraba optical type.
Enclosure Enhancements
The new purpose built enclosure with a
fully protected printed-circuit board
meets the IP65 class for dust and
moisture protection. The enclosure has
pre-drilled entries and flexible feet for
mounting on uneven surfaces and
incorporates open, close and stop
buttons with the provision for installing
a key switch and/or latching stop button
if required.
Meeting the Standards
The TS981 meets the requirements of
BS EN 12453 and the introduction of a
programmable maintenance indicator
further enhances the safety regime for
the user.
According to whether the intended
users are trained or not and whether the
door is in a public area or not,
determines the degree of safety
required.

Control Panel TS981
Dedicated traffic light relays can be configured as
follows:
One-way mode: green when the door is open,
red when the door is moving, and red selectable
on/off when the door is closed.
Two-way mode: when the door is only wide
enough for one vehicle the traffic lights control
entry and exit. However the direction in which the
vehicle is approaching is required through
terminals X5, X15 and X7, X17 (e.g. with loops).
Extended green light period, forewarning period
of 10 seconds, gateway evacuation period and
red light operation when the door is closed.
Connection for high level anti-trapping safety
devices:
Normally closed contact through beam photo
beam which is tested before each movement.
Other devices available include: normally closed
contact safety edge and normally open contact
safety edge.
Plug-in connection for airlock modules to
interlock two doors. The second door is
automatically opened 0 10 seconds, adjustable,
after the first door closes removing the need for
Open push buttons or sensors within the airlock.
The smoke curtain or smoke retaining function
allows the door to be closed to a position of 2.5m
above floor level when activated by the fire alarm
system.
The control panel can interface with the DU & FI
digitally controlled variable speed direct inverter
drive units, allowing the opening/closing speed
and acceleration/deceleration ramps to be
adjusted. The opening and closing speeds are
displayed in RPM.
Connection for reflective 6m and 9m or 20m
through-beam photo beams, which stops and
reopens the door if the beam is obstructed whilst
the door is closing.
Door overload monitoring function only for use
on sectional doors. The overload monitoring
function is in addition to the high level anti-
trapping devices, but not to replace them.
Limit switch and door parameter setting from
ground level.
Programmable door maintenance indicator with
three response modes including the option for
the service due function to be overridden once
to allow for a further 500 cycles.
Last 2 faults memorised.
Connection for loop detector.
