Tommy Medica logged his second game-winning RBI of the season and of his career with his pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth inning o As a team, the Padres now have 17 RBI this season from pinch hitters, the fourth-highest total in the Major Leagues. Andrew Cashner has now allowed two earned runs or less in 14 consecutive starts at Petco Park dating back to June 11 of last season, tied for the longest such streak in franchise history with Randy Jones, who also had 14 consecutive starts of two earned runs or less from September 2, 1977 through June 24, 1978. o During this 14 start stretch at home, Cashner owns a 4-5 record with a 1.43 ERA (15 ER, 94.1 IP) with 64 strikeouts against 20 walkshis ERA in that time ranks second in the Major Leagues to only Jose Fernandez (0.95). o Since August 19 of last season over his last 18 starts, Cashner has posted a 1.79 ERA (24 ER, 121.0 IP), the best mark in all of Major League Baseball in that time. o In 18 career games, all starts, throwing to Rene Rivera, Cashner owns a lifetime 1.93 ERA (26 ER, 121.IP) with 101 strikeouts against 27 walks. o Has now gone seven consecutive games and 45.0 consecutive innings without allowing a home run, the longest active streak in the National League by a starter this season.
