SAVE THE DATE
THIS WEEK
To celebrate Independence
Day, well have only two
worship services on July 6:
Genesis at 9:45am in Lee
Fellowship Hall, and Traditional
worship at 11am in the
Sanctuary (no 8:30 worship).
NEXT WEEK
We have spots remaining for Summer Nights & Salads
this Wednesday, June 25 in Lee Fellowship Hall,
presented by Women Engaged, our womens ministry at
First Pres. Enjoy a casual summer salad bufet and an in-
depth presentation covering the ins-and-outs of how to use
your iPhone or iPad. The cost is $25; register in advance at
fpco.org/we.
First Pres is excited to invite you to A Hollywood Fourth!,
a concert presented by the Orlando Concert Band. Join
us Sunday, June 29 at 3pm in the Sanctuary for this free
event. The program will feature patriotic music, American
marches, and music from recent lm scores.
Thank you for coming to First Presbyterian Church of
Orlando this morning! So glad youre here. We worship
together as a church family in four services on Sundays:
Traditional worship in the Sanctuary at 8:30 and 11am, and
Genesis worship in Lee Fellowship Hall at 9:45am and 11am.
If youd like to connect and learn more about this church,
one of our leaders will be available at the front of the room
after worship, or you can visit fpco.org/guest.
COMING UP
July is our annual Strike
Hunger month. Beginning
Sunday, July 6, were
collecting non-perishable
food items for Conway
Cares. Look for collection
bins in the Edington Ministry
Center lobby and under the
Angel Wing (between Allen
Hall and the Sanctuary).
Find out what you can bring
at fpco.org/hunger.

As a caring body of believers, please remember in your
prayers those recently hospitalized or recuperating at
home: Kenny Youmans.

father, James Justin Smeenge, Sr., June 15. Mr. Smeenge
was the grandfather of John (Sarah) Smeenge and great-

RECYCLE YOUR BULLETIN
8:30am & 9:45am worshipers can help the church be better
stewards of our resources and environment by placing
this worship bulletin in one of our recycling stations as you
leave today.
There are two right outside the Sanctuary: one in the Grand
Hallway leading to the Edington Ministry Center, and one
across from the entrance to the Prayer Room. If youre in
Lee Fellowship Hall, look for one to the right of the exit as
you leave.
The bulletins are reused for the 11:00am worship
service, and recycled on Monday morning.
Heart of the City Foundation

Greetings from St. Louis, Church! Luke Domeck and
I are serving as worship leaders for Fun In The Son
Midwest this week, a Youth Conference Ministries event.

Youll probably notice a familiar face leading you in worship
today, Micah Slankard. Micah was an electric guitar section
leader for a few seasons at First Pres and has recently
accepted a position with CrossPoint Church, at one of their
church plants. Hes a gifted musician, has a heart for the
Lord, and I know youll be blessed by him today. Please
make him feel welcome! See you all next week!

NOTES
G E N E S I S WOR S H I P T R A D I T I ON A L WOR S H I P
The opening hymn today was originally entitled Hymn to
the Trinity. Anonymously written, each verse focuses on
one person of the Trinity. Each member of the Godhead is
invoked to help us in our worship. The hymn highlights
what is sometimes called the economy of the Trinity. The
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each have a role to play
in our worship. The Holy Spirit empowers our worship.
Jesus is the One through whom we worship, the One
who intercedes on our behalf before the Father. God,
the Father, is the One to whom we ofer our worship.

Worship is not just about Jesus or the Holy Spirit. We
worship a Triune God, one God Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. All members of the Godhead are involved and our
music reects it. - Dr. Dan Sharp

*Passing of the Peace
St. Paul always greeted with the words, The peace of God be
with you. This is an appropriate way to greet fellow brothers
and sisters in Christ, and so we say, The peace of the Lord be
with you and respond, And also with you. We then pass this
greeting of peace to one another. At the passing of the peace
we should earnestly desire Gods peace upon each person we
greet.
