关于水资源 参考范文:
It is widely believed that fresh water will never be used up due to its rich resources such as
rain, rivers and wells. In fact, such belief is unfortunately wrong and possibly dangerous. As is
depicted in the picture, we are facing serious shortage of fresh water, especially in the northern
part of China. The land in some areas has become barren and there is no water coming from the
pumps. Definitely, the picture reminds us of the serious situation we are confronting.
Short as it is, people still waste it. With the growth of population and industry, the amount of
fresh water in use is also growing rapidly. It is estimated that if not controlled, fresh water will be
used up by the next century. Another dangerous factor is the water pollution, which aggravates the
seriousness of fresh water shortage.
It is no use only being aware of the shortage of fresh water. It is never too late if we act right
now. The first important measure is to protect our water resources form being polluted. Educating
people to save water in daily life is of similar significance. Techniques such as recycling waste
water and converting sea water into drinkable water are especially needed in dry areas. It is only
when these measures are put into practice can the shortage of fresh water be solved.

Air pollution, which can be seen in many parts of the world, is one of the serious
problems the world’s people are facing today. As is indicated from the picture, the poisonous gas
coming from the factories, automobiles and houses pollute the air without which cannot live.
There is no denying that many people as well as scientists have been aware of dangers air
pollution brings to people.
The first category of dangers it has brought is the harm to our health. Nearly everyone
knows that serious air pollution irritate our eyes, causes us to cough and makes us get more
serious diseases. Air pollution is not only dangerous to people but also detrimental to our
surroundings and our daily life. It corrodes our building, damages crops and forests and causes
both airplane and auto accidents because it cuts down visibility. Furthermore, the pollutants in the
air may travel through the air with wind; as a result, air pollution can spread from city to city, even
from country to county. So air pollution is really a global problem.
As can be seen from the above dangers, air pollution cost our human beings a great deal
of money. Therefore, it must be worthwhile to spend more money and efforts on air pollution
control.
3. 关于发展与环境 参考范文

As is vividly betrayed in the drawing above, people are striving for the tremendous
increase of GDP (gross domestic product) at the cost of our environment. The blue sky is being
severely polluted and human life is being threatened, which is most thought-provoking and worth
discussing among the general public for the time being.
The main purpose of the painter of the drawing above can be briefly stated as follows.
To begin with, it is high time that we realized the fact that our living environment and some
natural resources are being destroyed in the blind pursue of GDP increase. At present, the ecology
of our planet can hardly support the continuous expansion of heavy-polluting, high-consuming
and low-profit production pattern. What’s more, it is quite necessary that we have an objective
understanding of the relationship between GDP increase and the ecological environment. The
GDP increase which is achieved at the cost of sacrificing human living environment and

destroying our valuable natural resources (some of the resources are not renewable) is
meaningless at all. In sum, the blind craze for GDP increase must be stopped.
In my view, counter-measures should be taken to reverse the grim situation. On the one
hand, relevant laws and regulations must be set up by government to ensure a rational balance
between GDP increase and our living environment. On the other hand, a public education
campaign should be launched to make people have a good knowledge of green GDP. Only in these
ways can we have a sustainable development and a harmonious society.

The cartoon depicts a vivid scene in which two strong cyclists riding two similar
bicycles labeled “ENERGY” and “ENVIRONMENT” respectively, are furiously dashing head on
against each other. The most striking features of the cartoon may be the dripping sweat of the
cyclists and the single front wheel shared by the two bikes, which show the intensity and
inevitability of their struggle.
The main idea of the cartoon is apparent: the need to produce and consume energy
comes into acute conflict with the need to preserve the environment. The rapid expansion of
populations and their increasing demands for a better living lie at the root of deterioration of the
natural environment.
Can we find a way to get out of the awkward situation? I presume it of vital importance
for man to realize that he is an integral part of nature, the destruction of which means the perishing
of himself. I also have confidence in modern technology and genius which will enable man to
change present energy patterns to avoid environmental pollution. The appearances of ecological
products promise a bright prospect of settling the energy-environment contradiction.

  1. 关于早恋问题 参考范文:

Nowadays, love among college students has become increasingly common. As is

described in the picture, student lovers are often found on campus, sitting on green grass or on
long benches. What has made campus romance so popular?
There may be several possible reasons for the increasing popularity of campus love.
First of all, with the development of society, young boys and girls become more independent than
before. They believe that they are mature enough to pursue their own love. Secondly, stress from
study and competition among peers make quite a number of students try to seek relief from love.
What’s more, peer influence may also be a contributing factor. If a student sees his classmates or
friends with girlfriends, he may want to try himself. If he is left alone, he may feel ashamed.
As far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong with campus romance and no one can
really ban it. What really counts is that college students should hold a reasonable attitude towards
it. They should be aware that their personal relationship should not get in the way of their study.
They should keep their eyes wide open while trying to find a life-long companion. Otherwise,
their love will not last for long.

Parents, especially those of teenagers, care about their children’s education more than
anything else. They could do everything for their children. Many of them spend most of their
spare time coaching their children in studies; those who have time or cannot do it have hired
tutors. Some also send children to after-class schools. Some even have tried to mould their home

第2页
environment more favorable for study. It seems as if a better education is all that parents expect
for children.
The present situation can be explained by the following reasons. First of all, as our
country’s economy moves ahead healthily, many parents have become aware that future success
depends more and more on skills and education. Lack of training and education will no longer
ensure young people to have a promising future. Secondly, it is evident that in a competitive
society there are both losers and winners. The better skills and knowledge children possess, the
more opportunities they will be ensures. What is more, with school tuitions increasing it is also
reasonable for parents to expect their children to be somebody or do something great as a result of
education they have received.
Certainly, it is good to see much of parents’ attention on children’s education. However,
in my opinion, emphasis should also be laid on fostering other abilities and personal qualities.
True, it is important to learn to succeed, but the first thing to learn is how to survive and how to be
a qualified citizen. If this is included in good education that parents are seeking now, their children
will be definitely ensured not only of a bright future but also a sound intellectual and mental
foundation, hence a healthy life.
3. 关于高等教育质量问题 参考范文:

Now some of the students in colleges and universities in our country pay more attention
to job-hunting than to their academic work. As is shown in the picture, they seem to treat the
employment guide as their major subject. Generally speaking, most of the junior students work
very hard, attending classes, doing their homework and consulting their teachers. However, some
of the senior students, instead of pursuing their academic studies, focus their attention on looking
for jobs.
As far as the purpose of the drawer of the picture is concerned, I think he intends to
warn us that the fact that college graduates try to pander to the labor market will lead to the
decline in higher education quality. So the drawer calls on us to respond to the situation forcefully.
One point is clear that college education needs to be improved. As a result, it is the main business
for students to acquire knowledge and develop abilities, which will be useful in their future
careers.
In my opinion, a few preventive measures should be adopted to deal with the problem.
In the first place, students should realize the importance of their routine academic studies, without
which there can be no knowledge necessary and no abilities needed. Secondly, students should see
job-hunting in their right perspective. Only if they study in real earnest in college, can they meet
the needs of their future employment.
 4. 关于英语学习问题 参考范文:
As the table shows, the vast majority of the graduate students in China use English to
receive information rather than to express their own ideas. In most cases, English is useful only in
that it keeps them well informed of their specialized fields of study. Among those surveyed, 90%
claim that they use English to read textbooks and journals, and 10% say that they use it to attend
lectures. Those who claim that they use English to write reports, letters, papers account for but 5%
of the total and only 6% says that they use English to talk to native speakers.
Two reasons might account for this strange phenomenon. Firstly, a survey of Chinese
instructional methodology and testing system reveals that too much emphasis is put on the training

第3页
of reading comprehension skills. Most of the learning materials are reading materials and
examinations are basically reading types. Little use of English for normal communication is
required. By the time when they enter the graduate school, therefore, some of the students can
read very well but find it difficult either to speak or to write in English. Secondly, as most
graduate schools neither provide English seminars nor encourage their students to write the
academic papers in English, students have little chance to use their writing or speaking skills.
Graduate students are the future of China’s academic pursuits and English is the bridge
that links them with the international academic world. To contribute to the development of the
world, graduate students in China must learn to speak and write in English. This is probably the
only way by which their voice can be heard by the whole world
5. 关于大学生就业问题 参考范文
As is apparently revealed in the bar chart above, steadiness, high salary and self-
development are viewed as the ideal career standards by most university students. What is
reflected in the chart is most thought-provoking and worth discussing among the general public
for the time being.
The implied meaning which is conveyed in the bar chart can be briefly stated in the
following two aspects. To begin with, the spirit of challenge is missing among most university
students. As is indicated in the chart above, the majority of students regard steadiness as their top
ideal career standard. The very fact shows that now most university students lack the confidence
and courage to face hardships and difficulties in terms of work. What’s more, most students are
money-oriented and self-centered. As is indicated in the chart, high income and self-development
are viewed as the most important factors in terms of their ideal career standards. The fact indicates
that most people lack the spirit of serving the people and rewarding the society. In short, the
employment ideal of university students needs to be adjusted.
In my view, some necessary measures should be taken to establish new ideal career
standards among university students. On the one hand, a widespread education campaign must be
launched to popularize correct employment concepts. On the other hand, a healthy social
environment should be created so as to guide the development of students’ mind. Only in these
ways can university students find their ideal jobs in our harmonious society.

With the rapid development of economy, the number of Chinese traveling abroad has
increased enormously, which definitely benefits both China and the world.
In the past three years, the number of Chinese traveling abroad has kept a high growth
rate. In accordance with the figures from a survey, there were about 7.5 million people traveling
abroad in 1999. In the year after 1999, the number continued to rise. By 2000, it reached 10
million people. And the year 2001 saw an ever-growing number of 12.1 million people going
abroad.
The reasons why the number of Chinese traveling abroad grows so rapidly are just as
follows. First of all, after 20 years’ reform and opening up to the world, our economy has
developed very quickly. Now Chinese have more money in their pockets than before. They can do
whatever they want. Moreover, with more spare money in their hands, many Chinese would like
to better the quality of their lives by going out to see different people, to hear different ideas and
experience different cultures. And traveling abroad is just one way on the list to meet their
demands.

From the above analysis, we can easily draw the conclusion that such an increase in the
number of people traveling abroad is reasonable and will continue to prove on a rise.
 2. 交通问题——私家车的使用 参考范文:
As an updated product, the invention and production of automobiles have greatly pushed
forward the civilized development of human society. With the development of modern society,
automobiles seem to have become indispensable to the people’s daily life. For the time being,
many Chinese people who have made their fortune are able to afford them. But in my view point,
the number of the automobiles should be strictly controlled by the concerned agency of the
government.
First, automobiles may take up so much time and space. China has been celebrated for
its population with large areas as a developing country. Despite its large areas, it still seems
narrow in space because of its population. If each person has his or her own car, you’ll find that
you’re meeting with traffic jams in rush hours instead of going to work on schedule. You may
believe that riding on your bike is faster than driving your car. On driving it to the supermarket,
where there is no enough space to park, you may complain that how horrible manufactures have
produced so many automobiles.
Second, automobiles have brought about the problem of the pollution, which seems to
be a symbol of modern civilization. However, automobiles are giving out a great deal of smog
every day, which has a deep influence on not only human health but also physical environment. If
each person steers his car at the same time, you can imagine that how much smog a car will
discharge. Therefore, some actions should be taken immediately to decrease the number of the
automobiles. Otherwise, the world will become crowded and smoggy in the near future.
After all, automobiles have so many advantages. It’s convenient for us to travel, to go
shopping, to go to work and so forth. It can also be appreciated by way of exhibition. If the
scientists were to create a kind of automobile that gives rise to no air pollution, I believe that
private cars in our country should be encouraged and advocated.
 3. 社会公德或文明问题 参考范文
As is vividly betrayed in the drawing above, a gentleman and a lady are sitting calmly
on the reserved seats for babies and their mothers while a mother holding a baby in her arm is
standing beside the seats. The drawing exposes a common social phenomenon and is most
thought-provoking.
The implied meaning of the drawing is worth discussing. To begin with, manners should
be improved in public places. Some people lack the necessary public awareness so that they pay
no attention to the rules and regulations designed for public places. As a result, they disturb the
normal order of public places. What’s more, the traditional moral values should be enhances. It is
well known that to respect the elderly and take care of the young is one of our traditional virtues in
our country. At present, some people are so selfish that they even neglect our traditional virtues in
public places, which does no good to the healthy development of our society. In one word, we
should make a deep reflection on our own deeds.
In my view, necessary measures should be immediately taken so as to create an ideal
living environment. On the one hand, an education campaign should be launched to inform people
of the acceptable and civilized manners in public places. On the other hand, “eight honors and
eight disgraces” advanced by Hu Jintao should be publicized so as to enhance our sense of
traditional virtues. Only in this way can we live in a harmonious society.

 4.社会文化问题——奥运吉祥物 参考范文
As is vividly revealed in the drawing above, the five Beijing 2008 Olympic mascots are
cute and lovely.
Each mascot has a rhyming two-syllable name, the traditional way of expressing
affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic
Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow. The first characters of their two-
syllable names read “Beijing Huanying Ni.” or, in English, “Welcome to Beijing.”
The mascots have distinctive Chinese characteristics, representing not only the multi-
ethnic cultures of China, but also the traditional Chinese philosophy of harmony between humans
and nature. They also represent the five elements of nature- the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky.
“Five” also matches the five elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth) believed by ancient
Chinese people to explain the origins of the world.
Called the “Five Fuwa”, the figures embody the Chinese people’s hope for peace and
friendship in the world and the spirit of the Olympics. Dedicated to helping Beijing 2008 spread
its theme of One World, One Dream to every continent, the Five Fuwa reflect the deep desire of
the Chinese people to reach out to the world in friendship through the Games- and to invite every
man, woman, and child to take part in the great celebration of human solidarity in 2008.
5. 诚信问题——商家诚信 参考范文:
As is vividly portrayed in the drawing above, a milk salesman is promoting a bottle of
milk, which is marked with “next year” as its production date. The drawing mirrors a common
social phenomenon and is really thought-provoking.
The aim of the painter of the drawing is to reveal the fact of credibility crisis which is
getting increasingly serious in our modern society. Credibility crisis should be the uppermost in
our thoughts. Otherwise, our society is bound to deteriorate. Living in our society, people will
suffer instead of enjoying the civilization and happiness of modern society because the society is
filled with dishonesty and deception. Fu yang milk powder is a case in point. The fake milk
powder killed many innocent babies, which has cast doubt on the credibility of human beings. It is
not hard to spot cases of such kind in the field of education, medicine, accounting, entertainment,
etc.
Counter-measures to deal with credibility crisis should be taken so as to return people a
safe place to live in and to ensure people a healthy society. Most importantly, laws must be
established to severely punish those who misbehave in terms of credibility.
