edge switches. Includes the theory
behind confguration tasks, opportunity
to try confgurations and explanations of
simple networking debugging scenarios.

Hardware Overview
Overview of the Allied Telesis product
portfolio and where the products
covered in the course ft.
Basic Switch Operations
Confguring basic switch operations
using both the Command Line Interface
(CLI) and Graphical User Interface
(GUI). Initial connection, start up, port
management and feature licencing.
Switching Concepts
Introduction and confguration of
switching concepts such as forwarding
databases, port security / mirroring,
broadcast limiting / storm control and
Layer 2 fltering.
RSTP
Introduction of Spanning Tree protocol
and its parameters. Implementation and
confguration of Rapid Spanning Tree
Protocol.
Virtual LANs (VLAN)
VLAN theory and confguration is
discussed, including VLAN trunks and
private VLANs.
Link Aggregation
Introduction to link aggregation types
and traffc split criteria. Confguring both
static and LACP-based port aggregation.
IP
Covers the basic concepts and
confguration of Layer 3 services in
AlliedWare Plus switches.
Stacking
VCStack introduction and
confguration, software and
confguration fle synchronization, rolling
reboot, resiliency link and managing
stack members.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Introduction to the Power over Ethernet
standard technology and confguration.
SNMP
Overview of SNMP and MIBs,
confguration and implementation.
Net Campus
