COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an API U two days course on API Spec. 6A. The topics cover all aspects
of API 6A / ISO 10423 Specification, for Wellhead and Christmas Tree
Equipment. Workshop provides detailed information and requirements of the
Specification, and includes requirements of related API specifications and NACE
MR 0175 / ISO 15156 affecting valves and wellhead equipment.
A certificate from API-U shall be awarded to the Participants upon their
Successful Completion of the Course.

YOU WILL LEARN
The development of the specification from a mere interchangeability
standard to a complete design and quality control specification.
PSLs (Product Specification Levels) and PR (Performance Requirements)
levels.
list of product types included in the Specification
The various ratings of products (pressure, temperature, and material class)
and their meanings
minimum necessary contents of a design verification
rules for specifying and testing materials
various types of quality control procedures & the QC requirements for each
type of equipment
Relationship to other API Specifications 16A, 16C and 17D.
New Requirements of NACE as they relation to wellhead equipment and
valves.

This course is intended for purchasing, QA, QC, manufacturing, engineering
and sales personnel who are involved with the details of equipment
manufacture, product functions, and quality systems required for 6A
Equipment. It is also recommended for users of Spec 17D (Subsea Wellhead and
Christmas Tree Equipment), since many of the requirements are in common.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
Mr. V L SRIDHARAN is a Mechanical Engineer and carries a post diploma in
Metallurgical Engineering. He carries 42 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
He has over 4 Decades of expertise in Valve Manufacturing, Designing, Quality control
and Maintenance. He started his career as a QA QC associate in a leading valve
company and later became the founder of one of India's premium valve company
Econo Valves and was a master in the development of various types of valves,
including Lubricated Pressure Balanced Plug Valves. He designed and manufactured
valves to various international standards, including API standards. He was keen in
ensuring that his products met International Quality standards.
He is an Authorised Pressure Vessel (API 510), Piping (API 570), Above Ground Storage
Tank Inspector (API 653) of API. He is also an AWS Certified Welding Inspector & an
ASNT Level II in PT, MT, RT, UT, VT. He has extensive experience in conducting training
courses for senior professionals from several leading companies in Middle East, Africa
& Asia. He has conducted many Technical courses and has trained professionals from
leading companies from Middle East, South East Asia, Africa and India.
