The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an outstanding Small School Principal to lead the students, staff, and
community at The Incubator School towards continued academic success.
The Incubator School, an entrepreneurship-themed 6-12 LAUSD pilot school, seeks an outstanding, passionate, and
collaborative Small School Principal. The projected 2014-15 enrollment of Incubator is 140 students in grades 6-8. Incubator
will add one grade each year until it reaches full enrollment in 2018. The mission of Incubator is to launch tomorrow's

The Ideal Candidate will have strong collaborative leadership skills and the ability to partner with the schools founder in
building and implementing the schools vision, mission, and systems. S/he will be able to work within a governance
framework that includes parents, teachers, students and community members in areas of curriculum, behavior/discipline,
strategic vision, and resource allocation. S/he will have detailed knowledge of programming, budgeting and operations;
strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to work collaboratively with
fellow staff members; the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and community members; the ability to work
with strategic partners, the ability to grow support for the pilot model and our unique approach that includes the integration
of entrepreneurship, a social emotional learning framework, blended learning, and real world project-based learning.

SALARY: MST 42G - E Basis ($85,959 - $107,340) - 234 paid days
For an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized settlement (i.e., the
process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment)
Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to budget limitations
For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service
credit.

Required Experience must be in a public school setting:
Five years of successful full-time public school certificated service
Three years experience as a teacher in a K-12 public school program
Two years of school based experience at an elementary, middle or senior high school
At least one year of verifiable experience in an out-of-classroom leadership position such as coordinator, instructional
coach, etc.

Minimum Requirements include:
A valid California Administrative Services Credential Multicultural coursework*
A valid California K-12 Teaching Credential District Master Plan requirements*
Masters degree from an accredited college or university
*Out-of-District candidates have one year to complete this requirement
