The project is an identified need of the community
of Barangay Cadapaan, Balindong LDS through DSWDs community demand driven approach.
There are 50 participants of the said project, mostly are farmers who do not have enough space for drying and limited storage of their crops; because of this, some of them dry their products along the road, which hamper and pose risk to the transporters and most especially to the farmers. In worst case, they were force to sell their crops at very low prices just to avoid damages and spoilage of their products.
The community will own the project; part of it they will be in charge of the management and maintenance of the facility.

THE IMPACT OF THE PROJECT
The said project is of great help to the community of Barangay Cadapaan, Balindong LDS, primarily because this helps them with their problem on where they will dry and store their crops during the harvesting period. This also avoids them in selling their products at the lowest price because of the fear of having a limited storage.
The Peoples Organization (PO) were also empowered and capacitated in the proper management/operation and utilization of the project relating to the sustainability of the project and clear guidelines on the social safeguards to the community through the Operation and Maintenance Training, conducted as part of the project implementation. Moreover, the project also encourages the participation of the women in the project as evidently shown in the number of participants of the said project, which comprise of 25 male and 25 female. This only means that women are given equal treatment and importance not only in decision-making but also in those work they can able to do.
WFP Food Assistance
WFP rice was provided to those who were unpaid workers (volunteers) who contribute with the accomplishment of the project. The said assistance help mitigate food insecure in the area, as one of the participants shared to us ..with the food provided to us by the WFP, these lessen our problem in food, on what we will prepare on the next day, and also we are given hope and encouraged to work more together with my co-farmers because aside from the benefits we have for having this project, we are also thankful of the presence of the assistance given to us.
