I am applying for Msc. in Strategic Project Management (European Masters) because

I want to further my career as a Project Engineer.
I am interested in factors that affect the competitive performance of a business
concern and the manner in which changes in technology affect an organisation!s
structure long"term business strategy. Studying this course will better help me to#

I believe that an Msc. in Strategic Project Management (European Masters) would be
invaluable in helping me achieve these organisational goals. It would enable me to
channel my +uantitative and conceptual s*ills in analysing business issues and would
open new avenues for research.
(fter studies I will also li*e to apply for a faculty position and investigate issue
concerned with technology as it affects )rganisation strategy Structure and System.
My most recent )utstanding achievement is Managing a redevelopment Project in
which the client was Mobil Producing ,igeria -nlimited.
It is termed an achievement because I achieved the re+uired +uality of the project
completed the project on time and met the re+uired budget of the project.
I managed a team of ten Engineers on the Project. I properly managed the project by
developing a proper Project Management Plan as to coordinate and manage the
Project effectively and carry the sta*e holders along.
I made sure the Project was well e$ecuted by the Engineers by staying within the
re+uired scope of wor*.
I monitored and controlled the %ost . Schedule of the project as re+uired as to
effectively meet up with time . re+uired budget and also ma*ing sure the end
product of the project was of high +uality.
(ll these were achieved and the Project was successfully closed.
Personal Satisfaction and Passing on *nowledge to my subordinates plays a *ey role
in my career decision. /hile monetary rewards are of practical importance true job
satisfaction springs from the opportunity to grow . learn within an industry.
I enjoy ac+uiring new s*ills and information which helps me to adapt to the fast"
changing world as well as pi+ue my interest in innovation.
In addition a career with open prospects would give me constant incentive to improve
myself and to gain more *nowledge. I enjoy the sense of productivity and usefulness I
gain from wor* as a Project Engineer and it is a valuable e$perience for future
employment.
0iven the confluence of my personal and professional interests my goal is to obtain a
master!s degree and then apply for a faculty position so that I can pass *nowledge
learnt to students who are future leaders of tomorrow.
In addition to this I plan to use my private time to attend Project Management
Professional courses in order to maintain a competitive *nowledge on how to manage
projects. /hen I have gathered enough e$perience . s*ills I plan to pass on such
*nowledge to students who are the future leaders of tomorrow.
