The QuickCore Wireline Coring System was designed to be the next generation of wireline retrievable
coring/drilling tools. With its more robust attributes the system now is able to core an 76mm (3) or 89mm
(3.5) diameter core and wireline retrieve it safely to surface in lengths of up to 120 in a single run. This is
3 times longer than our nearest competitor can provide. Depth restrictions are now a thing of the past by
being able to go to 6,000m (20,000).
There are two main purposes for the system. First it is designed to reduce the amount of trip time
associated with coring operations. Secondly it reduces the Lost Gas Time associated with tripping cores
to surface via drill pipe, in e.g. unconventional gas formations.

Direct Benets of the QuickCore Wireline System
Cuts a 76mm (3) or (3.5) Diameter Core
Rig Time Savings are increased by cutting up to 36m
(120) in one run before wireline retrieving the core to
surface
Core lengths in 9m (30) increments 9, 18, 27 or 36m
(30, 60, 90 or 120)
QuickCore has a slim hole application in 159mm (6.25)
hole size
Detecting Core Milling or Jamming (The QuickCore
has built in Anti-Milling/Anti-Jamming feature that gives
a real time negative pressure reading at surface when
jamming/milling is taking place)
QuickCore is not affected by inclination in the
wellbore
Static uid invasion is decreased due to less contact
of the drilling uid against the core-Low Invasion
technology
System offers a drilling option to complete the well to
the next coring horizon or total depth via wireline with
out having to trip out of the hole to switch out BHAs.
Core Jamming becomes less critical when the core can
be tripped out of the hole via wireline.
System uses 5 1/2 CSX-54 Drill Pipe that can be used
to drill the entire well bore.
Core barrels, coring collars and drill pipe have high
torque connections
Offers 2-piece bit technology that allows the system
to drill or core on demand without tripping to change
BHAs
Ability to circulate through the drill pipe when wireline
retieving core to surface.
Because of Quests specialized coring drill pipe and
collars, the internal annular allows for hi-rate wireline
trip speeds at greater depths and heavier mud
properties
System can perform in underbalanced drilling
conditions
By reducing the need to trip drill pipe as per
conventional coring; overall coring operations becomes
a safer procedure for rig crews
System offers inner barrel congurations of Steel inner
tube with Aluminum liner (slotted or non-slotted) or
thick walled Aluminum inner tubes which are either
solid or uted
Doubled catcher system comprised of a spring and
nger catcher for increased recovery
The QuickCapture system is run in conjuction with
the Standard QuickCore wireline coring system and is
designed to capture 100% of gas and any other uids
released form the core, as well as keep the core sample
pressurized at a set pressure. This allows the accurate
measurements of:
- GOR Gas:Oil Ratio
- Desorption gas analysis
- OOIP Original Oil in Place
- OGIP Original Gas In Place
- PVT analysis Pressure Volume Temperature
- Accurate reserve reports
- Various Reservoir Studies
The QuickCapture system uses the same outer core
barrel as the standard QuickCore coring system. This
means it is extremely easy and time efcient to change
from a standard QuickCore inner barrel assembly to
a QuickCore pressure Core assembly. This process
of switching assemblies is done via wireline and no
tripping of the drill string is required to change out the
BHA.
The system is capable of cutting a 3m (10) long core
per run with a core diameter of 76mm (3) which is the
largest pressure core available. There are minimum of
(5) 1.5m gas cylinders that are placed above the core
which will serve as the container to capture all uids
released.
