Hello Everybody,

May I draw your attention please!

I am very glad to write on this site. I am Keshav Bhattarai (2006 Batch) from Chongqing Medical
University (Chongqing Municipality, Chongqing City, China). It is all for all the Nepali students who
are doing their medical courses like undergraduate (MBBS), post-graduate (MD/MS/MDS), Doctorate
(Phd.) and so on in China. May all of you understand my writings and I guess you know what I mean
when I say understand my writings as all of you are from the educated circle.

There is a rumour in Nepal and China that the Nepali students who are doing medical courses like
undergraduate (MBBS), post-graduate (MD/MS/MDS), Doctorate (Phd.) and so on in China will not be
allowed to do Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship in Nepal. Yes, they are going to stop the Nepali
students from doing Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship in Nepal who are doing medical courses
like undergraduate (MBBS), post-graduate (MD/MS/MDS), Doctorate (Phd.) and so on in China. But,
that is not because we are not studying anything here in China, rather is going to be done in order to
maintain the law and order of our country by the Maoist led government of Nepal. So, we should let the
government to maintain the law and order of our country strongly. We should not worry for our
personal benefit.

As we know, the Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship are to be done in the hospitals affiliated to
the University where we study 4 years theoretical courses in MBBS and after the completion of 2 years
practice courses in post-graduate (MD/MS/MDS), Doctorate (Phd.) and so on under the direct guidance
of the medical officers, doctors and professors. It is not only in Nepal this is going to happen. It exists
all around the world. All the International medical students studying in China compulsorily need to do
their Pre-internship/Internship in China except Nepali students. It sounds very funny to hear this, right?
No, it does not because we are very familiar with this as our country doesn’t have proper rules and
regulations to control this. It may sound funny to Nepali people when they hear that even Americans,
English, Japanese, Canadians, Koreans, Malaysians, Indonesians, Africans, Indians, etc do their Pre-
internship/Internship in China besides Nepali students. Why only we Nepali students need to do that in
our country? Just to prove that we are superior and our country has more freedom than even US, UK,
Canada and so on and to prove that our country’s constitution is best in the world. No, we are totally
doing the wrong thing. We are very stupid when we are trying to do the thing that never existed in any
other country. We are using our source, force and money to get established. How can we call ourselves
to be from the educated circle? How will the country develop if we the future doctors involve in the
protests and agitations or if we ask our parents to involve in that type of event just for doing Pre-
internship (Electives) and Internship in Nepal which does not suit us? Just for our self benefit. Why
can’t we do the Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship in China while the others can? Why don’t we
learn Chinese in better way in the first year? We just know to make excuses. Only losers make excuses.
There are many Nepali students who did their Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship in China before.
They are working well in Nepal now. You don’t know that we can’t even compare the medical
technologies of China to that of Nepal. It may not be available in Nepal even after 50 years but also we
are trying to run away from this, only for our personal benefit. What are the benefits if we do Pre-
internship (Electives) and Internship in Nepal?

1. Can save money in tuition fee, food and living.

2. Can eat Nepali food day and night which you miss in China.

3. Can meet friends and relatives very often.

4. Can hang out with friends very often.

5. Lastly the learning thing.

The 4 points are 100% true in fact but no-one wants to express these things with open heart because all
these things are for your personal benefit. Learning thing comes at last because if we were really so
much interested and dedicated in our studies, we could have got chance to study in Nepal in
scholarship seats. Why do we blame the Chinese language and the Chinese system where we stayed for
so long time? It is our problem that we did not stud y the Chinese language properly and even don’t
have good command in medical course. I know it is difficult but just for doing Pre-internship
(Electives) and Internship it is not a big problem if we have good command in medical course. Here,
we can see the latest technology that will be a great gift for us. All the doctors and professors use
English language besides patients. So, what is the problem? The problem you are talking about is not
the real problem rather it is just an excuse for your personal benefit. We should not always think for
personal benefit, rather we should think of overall progress of self, nation and its people.

Only vigilante used to work in the government in the past years. They never even knew what Pre-
internship (Electives) and Internship are. They just let to do anything to anyone when someone said
that he/she is MBBS student, in the past years in Nepal. Moreover, in the past years the sons, daughters
and siblings of very rich people, powerful people and ministers used to study in China who made the
bad trend in our country by using their source, force and money. So, now it is just like a system in our
country although nothing like that is mentioned in any legal government law and order. Now, you can
imagine how our country is running. If we the future doctors from educated circle are forcing the
government to do unlawful activities by involving ourselves or our parents in protests and agitations, it
is obvious that the poor farmers, illiterate people do the protests and agitations. So, we need to think it
very deeply, seriously and positively in order to build a New Nepal and be the good example.

Never mind although you are missing the chance to do Pre-internship (Electives) and Internship in
Nepal. Even I am a Nepali student studying MBBS in China. We need to sacrifice something to let our
country make the law and order strong.

Truth is always bitter, so very few people try to accept it. But we are from the educated circle as we are
future doctors. So, let us do commitment and start learning Chinese language as well as medical course
very seriously from now onwards as we are here in China for studying not for tour and trip. Let us
promise together with strong determination to realize our dreams.
