It is important to review sentences with new vocabulary so that the students understand when to use it appropriately. The memory game lends itself particularly well to this week's topic as we can use it to practice the long vocabulary list, and we should continue to practice the songs from the past few units at the beginning of the day so that students do not lose the vocabulary words. I will mark the work individually and corrections and feed!ack will !e given. Throughout the week we will play games such as 'splat( and 'stepping stones( to rehearse the phonics in a fun way. At the end of the week we will do another review of !oth unit 3 and 4 which focus on short e and short I words respectively. We will go through the eercises on pages 4)* 43 together as a group% focusing on listening and repeating each word and sound and then completing the eercises which included circling the words that rhyme% matching words and short Wr#t#n% Pract#ce We are changing the structure of the writing practice lesson during +honics , it will now !e a longer session once per week so that the teacher can take some one*on*one time with students and give them feed!ack. We have discussed this with the Thai staff and they have agreed to give support during this time% so thank you to them- There will also !e some writing practice in activity time% especially focusing on the vowels within voca!ulary words.
