Some Ideas Towards Postal 2: UDK.

Version 1.4

Postal 2: UDK is an ongoing remake of Postal 2 on Unreal Engine III developed by Polish developers.

nod to the movie where most of the Taliban carry them (unlikely though
that would be). Taliban should carry a mix of assault rifles.

I would enjoy that. Perhaps there might be a semi-auto sporter rifle in
the game, in which case I tend to favour the AR-180B.
Postal Weapons Thoughts, Part Three: SMGs.
Functionally SMGs will be similar to the assault rifle(s). They may
be shorter ranged and have a higher rate of fire. They will also tend to be
rarer, the main sources being the police and criminals. Suggested types:
MP5. Favoured by many police forces, it will probably be an
alternative to the M16/M4 for SWAT.

to deal with, which will make things interesting.
Postal Weapons Suggestions, Part Two: Rifles.
The Original Postal 2 had just two rifles. One was a
hunting/sniping rifle, the other an assault rifle (often but erroneously
referred to as a “machine gun”).
According to imfdb.org the scoped rifle is a M24 SWS, but since
this is a rather rare and expensive military weapon this seems unlikely in
the context of the game, which suggests many of these are in fact civilian
hunting weapons. Probably a good model for this weapon is the

since it uses a slide but fires from an open bolt. Sawn-offs should be a weapon option for priests.
Postal Weapons Thoughts Part Five: Napalm and Scissors.
I like the Napalm Launcher. It and the scissors are weapons you
do not see in other games. The physics of the scissors need fixing, as I
have already mentioned. The Napalm Launcher also needs adjustment.
One thing I'd like to see fixed is the projectile seems to leak when
you fire it and can set the Postal Dude on fire even if fired level or at
relatively low elevations. Now, for Alt-fire this is fine if it starts leaking

Postal Weapons Thoughts Part Four: Shotguns. Chainsaw, electric drill, nail gun.
Having now played with a lot of the shotguns available for AWP
they divide into “too weak” and “too much”. With the standard gun you
can often put two or three shots into a target's head and they do not
even stop shooting. Most of the modded guns on the other hand blow

Possibly the Butchers may have a little bit of a Mad Max look?
This would distinguish them more from the Rednecks. Working indoors
Butchers tend to favour pistols and shotguns. They also have a tendency

How about some joggers and runners in the population? Might be
fun to have some faster moving targets!

General Gameplay Issues.

The military base needs more health packs and pickups.
Breweries, meat packing plants etc are dangerous environments.
Let us have lots of ways to utilize the environment to kill enemies.

many options.
