ELECTION SPECIAL DHAKA TUESDAY DECEMBER 16, 2008

NINTH PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS-2008

In preparation for the general elections on December 29, the Awami League and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party recently announced their electoral manifestoes outlining their plans
and programmes for the next five years. It may be noted that the BNP manifesto is in Bangla. No English translation is officially available. The document has been kept in that form in
order for its originality to be maintained. We print the two manifestoes in their entirety in the interest of our readers.
We also print the list of candidates for the parliamentary elections along with the manifestoes. -- Editor
