I.

What did I learn from my Internship Experience in terms of Knowledge, Skills and
Attitude? How am I able to apply the theories I learned in school?

Being an apprentice in a government owned bank, I have learned many things that will
help me become disciplined and equipped for my future profession. As a Management
Accounting student, working in a bank helped me improve my accounting skills. Learning the
banking system helped me understand how money is controlled by the bank. In terms of
communication skills, I have achieved improvement since I had been assigned to interact with
the clients. My computer skills had been enhanced by being assigned to do the encoding of
transactions and the filing of bank documents had also improved my organization skills. With
these experiences, my skills had improved and motivated me to do a better job.
Interacting with people had been a great key for my motivation. Learning jobs from the
employees taught me respect and discipline. You learned from them by teaching you what the
things that needed to be done, and in return, you pay them respect and obedience. Courtesy
was also observed in the workplace especially when talking to the clients. One of the principles
of the bank is confidentiality, and with this, I have learned that there are limitations when
providing information to the clients.
With the lessons taught in school, I was able to apply different principles especially in
accounting. Since the work involves money, accuracy and confidentiality should be applied. I
was also able to apply the Lasallian principles and values I have acquired from the school that
helped me be a responsible and trustworthy trainee.

II. How are these learnings helpful in preparing myself for a professional life after
college? My most unforgettable moment.

As a Management Accounting student, it is expected that my future profession would
involve business related institutions. With my experiences from being an apprentice in a bank,
it helped me to become aware of the opportunities that await me when I graduate from
college. Learning some business-related activities helped me become equipped. With the
trainings I had undergone, it had prepared me on what works are to be expected and how it
should be done. Since being a professional is not easy, the experiences improved me to become
disciplined and responsible. With the skills I had acquired from the training, it would be a great
help in finding the right job for me since I was able to undergo business-related activities. As my
values were strengthened, it will enhance me to become a better co-worker to the fellow
employees as well as respectful to the clients.
My whole experience with the DBP family had been great and full of fun. The employees
were friendly and approachable to the interns. They were really patient and respectful to us
when they instruct us the things to do. My unforgettable moments were the fun-filled
experiences with the employees and co-interns wherein friendships were formed. It was not
really difficult to interact with the employees since some of them are only a couple of years
older than us and some are fresh graduates. They had treated us as part of their family even
though we had only been there for a month. I can say that the memories I had with the DBP
family will be forever treasured.
