Remember the Apostles!

Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Mark 10:4

Follow Me! Follow Me! Follow Me! Follow Me!
Have you ever wondered how the
Christian Church started? Christ rose
from the dead. Then what?
Well, then Jesuss followers worked and
worked to tell people about Jesus Christ.
They wanted everybody to know what Jesus
had done for us. They wanted everybody else
to know how God wants us to follow Him.
It wasnt easy to do this! Lots of times people
were angry at Jesuss followers. Today we cele-
brate the nameday of two of Jesuss best helpers.
They did everything they could to keep the
Church going. Their names are Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
In a letter, Saint Paul tells what he put up with. He was whipped with
lashes. He was hit with rods. People threw stones at him. He was ship-
wrecked three times. He was cold, hungry, thirsty. Lots of times, his life
was in big danger.
But Saint Paul kept at it! He knew what God wanted from him. He knew
that his job was to spread the good news about Jesus Christ. Today, lets
remember all that these two great men did to start the Christian Church!

SAINT JOHN OF SAN FRANCISCO
THE WONDER-WORKER
Do you have any idea how many Saint
Johns we have? Hundreds and hundreds!
Last week, we remembered the birthday of
Saint John the Baptist. Then we have Saint John
the Russian. Saint John the Theologian. Saint
John the Hairy. Saint John the Dwarf. And
many, many more!
But on Wednesday, we will celebrate a special
Saint John who lived and died in our own coun-
try. Even though he was an important bishop,
Saint John really loved children. When he was a
bishop in China, Saint John started an orphanage for the children. And
everywhere, he looked out for the children. He helped them with food
and clothing, but he also helped teach them about the love of our Lord,
too!
Now, Saint John is still with us because he prays for us from heaven.
Many, many miracles have happened because of his prayers. If you ever
visit San Francisco, ask your parents to take you to his church. The peo-
ple there will give you some holy oil. This holy oil has been known to
heal people who are very sick. Your family can keep it in your house if
you especially need Saint Johns prayers.
We celebrate the nameday of St. John on Wednesday, July 2nd.
