Selected and associated values are


referred to as possible values.
2. A cell whose contents are not associated (whose value does not occur in
combination with that of the selected item) is called excluded. The cells of excluded
values are gray.
3. To undo your selection sim!ly click on the selected cell again or clic" on
another cell in the same list box. The new selection will re!lace your !revious
selection.
#. To select more than one item in the same list box hold the CTRL key down while
selecting additional values. $f the items you are selecting are ad%acent to your first
selection you can instead hold the left mouse button down while dragging the mouse
cursor.

"ee! trac" of them. $n order to hel! you with this (li")iew has two good tools the
Current Selections box and the Current Selections window.

buttons only apply to selections( other changes like the remoal of an ob)ect or
the change of a setting& are not affected*
4. +hoose Lock from the Selections menu or from the toolbar. This will lock all
selections !reventing them from being cleared by mista"e. Try to select an
excluded alue in another list box and note that it is not possible*
15. $nstead of %ust starting to ty!e you may also choose Search from the +dit ,- menu or
clic" the Search icon in the toolbar. 6ist boxes can also be configured to hold a little
search icon in the ca!tions. These icons can be clic"ed directly to o!en the search
window. 7itting the +%T+R key will select all values matching your search string.

The result of this search is all values containing 8co: at any !lace in the string.
12. if the search is made in a field containing numeric data you can start your search
string with greater than/-/ or less than /0/ and then enter a number.
