Product Description ZYAROCK

HoSt-E rollers are designed to be used in hot stamping process lines to convey
structural metal parts at temperatures close to 1000C, especially in the entry and exit sections
of hearth furnaces.

Benefits ZYAROCK

HoSt-E rollers are the preferred choice in the entry and exit sections of roller
hearth furnaces to resist existing thermal shocks induced either by cold structural metal parts
entering the furnace or by cold air convection in both entry and exit gate areas.

To achieve an outstanding resistance to such thermal shocks, ZYAROCK

HoSt-E rollers are

made of high purity sintered fused silica raw material demonstrating very low thermal expansion
property.

In daily operations, such low thermal expansion property translates into less roll deformation or
bending, smooth and homogeneous conveying of metal parts, increased roller life-time and less
production down-time.

The high thermal shock resistance also allows the handling of rollers at operating temperature
which enables to minimize rollers replacement time when necessary

ZYAROCK

HoSt-E rollers also benefit from low thermal conductivity and solid roller design
which enable a uniform roller surface temperature across the width of the furnace and, doing so,
a uniform heat treatment of metal parts entering the furnace.

Such design also prevents heat loss near the drive system, thereby reducing component
deterioration, related maintenance cost and, most importantly, production downtime.

The surface texturing of ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller is a key parameter to ensure a safe and

precise conveying process of each steel blank through the full furnace cycle. The specific
surface texturing ensures good blank movement without sliding and exact positioning at the
furnace exit. This is key to ensure a reliable and safe operating mode with overall cycle time of
15 seconds or less.


Application: ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller has been designed to work in roller hearth furnaces at atmosphere
temperature close to 1000C. They will withstand thermal cycling and do not break due to
temperature changes if they have not been exposed to temperature above 1100C.

ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller must not be cleaned or washed with products containing alkaline
elements such as in soaps or oils as this will lead to surface degradations with cracking and
surface peeling.

Patterns & packaging ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller are designed and manufactured to customer requirements with tight
control on surface roughness and dimensional accuracy.

The length/ OD ratio of the roller will be defined in function of targeted physical properties,
furnace load and furnace layout.

The maximum roller length currently produced is equal to 4,5m and can be extended upon
customer requirement.

ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller can be delivered with metal caps used to connect to the drive
system. The VESUVIUS patented Smartly Driven
TM
end cap attachment system provides the
best solution for a permanent and long lasting attachment between ceramic part and metal end
caps.

ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller are packed in wooden crates to avoid contamination and damage
during transportation and are ready to use without cleaning or preheating prior to use.

Storage & Shelf Life ZYAROCK

HoSt-E roller shall always be stored under dry conditions. Should the material
become damp during storage, dry at 90C for 24 hours minimum before use
