Report on BOQ preparation for Substructure

Objectives
To improve skills on taking off/BOQ preparation for Substructure.
To improve the understanding of certain issues arising when preparing BOQs.
To improve the knowledge on industry practices adopted in BOQ preparation.

Tasks

Task 01

You have been requested to produce a report focusing on the following :
Use of The Standard Method of Measurement( SLS 573) for BOQ preparation/
taking off quantities for Substructure
Practical problems faced by Quantity Surveyors when taking off quantities/
preparing BOQs for substructure
Solutions developed for the problems encountered in preparing BOQs for
substructure

Methodology

Students shall work individually to produce the report.
The report shall be word processed on one side of A4 sheets and neatly presented
as a bound document.
Word limit is of 1000 -1250 words.
Students are encouraged to gather information from the industry.
The following should be included in the report
o Introduction
o Body of the report
o Conclusion and Recommendations
o References
APA referencing style shall be used to refer material written or produced by other
authors
