AP European History

1450-2000
Mr. R. Kline
Room 318
rkline3!"ps.or#
$ourse %&er&ie'
The study of European history since 1450 introduces students to cultural, economic, political and societal
developments that played a fundamental role in shaping the world in which they live. Without this
knowledge, we would lack the contet for understanding the development of contemporary institutions, the
role of continuity and change in present!day society and politics, and the evolution of current forms of
artistic epression and intellectual discourse.
"n addition to providing a #asic narrative of events and movements, the goals of the $% European &istory
are to develop an understanding of some of the principal themes in modern European history' an a#ility to
analy(e historical evidence and historical interpretation' and an a#ility to epress historical understanding
in writing.
