Q:How many such pairs of letters are there in the word
TERMINATE each of which has as many letters between them in
the word as in the English alphabet ?

Well, there is a simple and kiddish technique to solve these
type of problems.
1st put your pen/pencil on the first letter (in our case T),
start saying alphabets from T and simultaneously move your
pencil one step further. If you do so, your pencil's position
would be on A while you utter the letter Z. No matches
found.
So next start with the letter E. You will end with the pencil
pointing on E and uttering the letter L.
next letter R and so on...
*If the letter your pencil points to and the letter you utter
are same, then just mark that letter. *
Apply same process to the backward letters too....
start with E and point backwards (E, T, A, N, I....) by saying the
alphabets...
see here E f g h I (match found) so mark I...

Hi,
I used to write the position of the letter on top of it as per
the alphabetical order, but your method seems to be very
simple and better also.
And I thank you for maintaining such a wonderful site for
bank competitive exams.
