Internal Sensor Calibration

The EZtorQ II Meter Interface software can be used to calibrate the internal transducer of
the unit. The function is password protected. The required password is available by
contacting customer support for customers that have the necessary equipment to perform
a dead weight calibration.

EZtorQ II calibrations are done in conjunction with a PC Windows based Calibration
Program. The program is easy to use and guides the user through the calibration steps.

Once the meter is connected to the computer and the Sensor Calibration tab is chosen in
the interface software, the Start button should be pressed to start the calibration. All the
required information must be entered in the appropriate text boxes. This includes
information such as Sensor Model, Serial Number, the Full Scale torque value, and the
units of calibration. In the Calibration Type the user can select one of the options -
Compression/ CW, Tension /CCW or Both. If choosing a 2 point calibration, load at 10%
and 100%, and if performing a 3 point calibration load at 10%, 50% and 100%.

Step by Step Calibration Procedure

1) Turn on the EZ-TorQ II unit and connect it to the computer.

2) Go into the EZ-TorQ II interface program, select the Sensor Calibration tab and fill
in the sensor information:
a) Sensor Model
b) Serial Number
c) Full scale value of transducer
d) Unit of measure of transducer

3) Choose the desired options under Calibration Type:
a) Compression/ CW Torque, Tension/ CCW Torque or Both
b) 2 point calibration (10% and 100% of full-scale value) or 3-point calibration (10%,
50% and 100% of full-scale value)

4) Press Start to begin calibration.

5) The software will prompt for a password. Type in the password and press OK.

6) The EZ-TorQ II unit will get into Calibration Mode. Press Start on the computer
to begin calibration.

7) Pre-load the sensor prior to hanging the first value by loading the sensor to 100% of
full scale value and then removing the weights.

8) Hang the weight amount indicated by the program, allow the A/D reading to stabilize
for 30 seconds and then press Continue. IMPORTANT: Do not touch the senor,
interface, wheel, or weights until the next weight amount is indicated on the screen.

9) Repeat step 8 until all amounts are finished.

10) When the text box states Calibration Complete. Calibration is finished and the unit
is ready for use.

11) Check the calibration of the device by applying known torque at any desired point in
the range.
