Asking for and Giving Things

1. Pre activity
First, make students curious with the materials, for instance we give them an example
of asking and giving things.
A : Can I borrow your pencil?
B : Yes, here it is.
After we give an example, ask the students to guess what the expression in example
is.

2. Main Activity
After the students guess about the materials, tell them about todays topic, i.e. asking
for and giving things. Before giving them the examples of expressions for asking for
and giving things, give them a little explanation about the material.

a. Explanations
In interacting with someone we usually need to ask and give something. For example,
when we buy something at the market. We ask something we need to buy, and the
seller gives us the things. Below are some expressions for asking and giving things.

Do some games. The game rule is: we sing together and use a pencil that is rounded
around the students. After that we stop the song, and students that holds the pencil
should practice the expressions. Ask them to work in pairs, then ask them to choose
their partner. Then, take turns with your friend to ask ang give something with these

And then, continue with Task 2. In this task, we ask the students to work in pairs
again and practice the dialogue about asking and giving a thing based on the
following situation.
a.Your mother is cooking pecel. She asks you to take the vegetables in the
refrigerator.
