Activities/Projects
History :
1. The French Revolution
Wall Magazine :
Class can be divided into three equal groups. Each group will be
allotted one of the following topics :
1. The Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen
2. Some of the basic rights set forth in Olympe de Gorges
Declaration.
3. Political Symbols
2. Socialism in Europe and the Russian Revolution
Role Play :
For the role play some special characters can be given to depict.
Class can be divided into a number of groups. Each group can be given
a character to enact and the rest of the group members can support
that character.
Characters can be :
1. Tsar Nicolas II
2. Karl Marx
3. Vladimir Lenin
4. Stalin
Marks would be allotted on the basis of their presentation.

3. Nazism and The Rise of Hitler
Movie :
Children may use photostory to present a movie on Hitler and
Nazism. The class can be divided into two groups.
Either they can enact and prepare a movie or with the help of pictures
and added dialogues, the movie can be prepared.
Teachers can support them for collecting information and getting
them either movie camera arranged or guiding them how to direct
them. Maks will be allotted on the basis of their presentation.

Geography :
1. Size and Location
Power Point Presentation
The class can be divided into groups.
They will be allotted about 8-10 days to complete the presentation.
The topic is Significance of Indias Central Location.
The questionnaire will be prepared by each group to ask questions to
the rest of the class.
2. Physical Features
Class can be divided into 6 groups.
Each group would be allotted topics to prepare project.
Topics will be :
Project will be prepared on A4 size sheet.
They will be collecting information and write on their own in the
project. Some photographs can be pasted and if needed diagrams can
be made. Maps may be added to give it a complete information.
Marks will be allotted on the basis of their matter and presentation.


3. Drainage
Power Point Presentation
Each river may be allotted to a group of two or three students.
They may give the origin and the route of the river as well as the
merging of river in the sea. Their comparison can also be shown.
Children will show forming of delta, estuary, I-shape valleys or gorges,
dendetric drainage, trellis drainage, rectangular drainage and radical
drainage.

Political Science :
1. Democracy in the Contemporary World
Role Play :
The whole class can be divided into two groups.
One group will depict the tale of Chile, how it became dictatorial from
democracy. Other group will depict how democracy in Poland was
established. Then children will be told to find out the outcome of
transitions in these countries, their approach towards social and
economic matters, how power was exercised by their government.
Marks will be allotted on the basis of their presentation.
2. What is Democracy? Why Democracy?
Debate :
A group of two students each will be divided for the debate.
According to the roll nos. their teams will be formed. One speaker will
speak in favor of democracy and other will speak against democracy.
Interjectors will be allowed to ask questions to the debaters and extra
marks will be allotted to them.
3. Constitutional Design
Project Report :
The whole class has to attempt this assignment in their homework
assignment copy along with pictures.
The topic is : Comparative Study of the Constitutions of South Africa
and India.
Preambles can be written for both the countries, their efforts in
making of the constitution and the problems they faced while making
it will be given.
Each child will be allotted marks on the basis of their presentation,
content matter and neatness.

Economics :
1. The Story of Village Palampur
Role Play :
Class can be divided into four groups.
Each group will be allotted 1 topic to prepare.
Non-farming activities of Palampur would be allotted to them.
They may pick up any one non-farming activity with one example to
prove the condition of that person involved in that activity.
Marks will be allotted on the basis of their content and presentation.
2. People as Resource
Group Discussion :
A group discussion can be organized in the class on the topic, Youth
Unemployment in Rural as well as Urban Areas.
Children may first of all bifurcate onto Rural and Urban areas.
Then causes of unemployment can be discussed.
Later on the efforts the government should make to provide
employment can be discussed.
Points can be allotted and on that basis marks can also be allotted for
their contribution and awareness about the chapter.
