INTERCHANGEABILITY & PACKING
All spares supplied under this contract shall be
strictly interchangeable with parts for which they are
intended for replacements. These spares should
include all mounted accessories like components,
boards, add on items, fittings, connectors etc. and be
complete in all respects so that the replacement of the
main items by these spares does not require any
additional items. The vendors must confirm the pin to
pin compatibility of each electrical spare module with
the modules supplied in the original package. All
electronic modules should be preset and/or
preprogrammed for ready use at site. Alternately,
suitable instruction sheet indicating the details of
required PCB jumper position, BCD switches,
settings, EPROM/PROM listings etc. should be
packed along with each module. Also a caution mark
sign should be put on all such modules, which needs
presetting/preprogramming before putting them into
service. The spares shall be treated and properly
packed for long term storage of spares under the
climatic conditions prevailing at the site e.g. small
items shall be packed in sealed transparent plastic
bags with desiccator packs as necessary. Bidder shall
furnish preservation techniques/procedure for long
term storage along with their despatch document.
IDENTIFICATION
Each Spare shall be clearly marked and labelled on
the outside of the packing with its description. When
more than one spare part is packed in single case, a
general description of the contents shall be shown on
the outside of such case and a detailed list enclosed.
All cases, containers, and other packages must be
suitably marked and numbered for the purpose of
identification.

The quantities of mandatory spares shall be specified
in Clauses 5.01.00 to 5.22.00 above. Wherever
quantity has been specified as percentage (%) the
quantity of mandatory spares to be provided by the
Bidder shall be the specified percentage (%) of the
total population required to meet specification
requirements for 2x500 MW units. In case the
quantity of mandatory spares so calculated happens to
be a fraction, the same shall be rounded off to next
higher whole number.
