CurrentText:TheHouseofCommonsofParliamentmayenactaMotionofNoConfidenceinthe
government.ThisrequirespassagewithamajorityoffiftypercentplusoneoftheHouseof
CommonsonlyapprovalfromtheHouseofLordsorRoyalAssentisnotrequired.Upon
enactmentofaMotionofNoConfidence,Parliamentisautomaticallydissolvedandanew
electionmustbecalledbytheMonarchwithinfivedaysorless.

Confidenceinthegovernment.Thisrequirespassagewithamajorityoffiftypercentplusoneof

EachpartyisvotedintotheHouseofCommonswithoneleader,thusmeaning,thatallpersons
whovoteforthatpartyarealsovotingforitsleader,whoshouldretainpoweratalltimes.A
deputymayretainpowerintheabsencesofthepartyleader,withhispermissionandconsent

Text:Section1TheSupremeCourtoftheUnitedKingdomisthehighestappellatecourtinthe
country.JusticesoftheSupremeCourtareappointedanddismissedbytheMonarchonadviceof
thePrimeMinister.FivejusticeswillexistontheSupremeCourt.
Section2TheSupremeCourtisthefinalcourtinwhichlowercourtsappealto.TheSupreme
CourtmaynotoverturnActsofParliamentunlesstheActcontradictstheCharterofRightsand
FreedomsoftheUnitedKingdom.
Section3InorderforacasetobebroughttotheSupremeCourt,aformalcomplaintmustbe
filed.ThecomplaintisthendeliberatedbytheSupremeCourt.Afterdeliberation,avoteof35,
41,or50mustbeissuedbytheJustices.Thisdetermineswhetherthecomplaintisbroughtto
trial.
Section4Courtprocedureinatrialmustabidebytherightsandfreedomsprovidedinthe
CharterofRightsandFreedomsoftheUnitedKingdom.Ifatrialdoesnotfollowconstitutional
procedure,thedecisionbythecourtwouldbeinvalid.AguiltyverdictbytheSupremeCourtor
juryisreachedwhenfourofthefivejusticesorjurorsvoteguilty.Avoteoflessthanfouroutof
fiveinfavorofguiltyleadstoanotguiltyverdict.Thesentenceoftheconvictedisdeterminedby
thePresidentoftheSupremeCourtorthepresidingcourtjudge.

CourtofAppealsTheCourtofAppealdealsonlywithappealsfromothercourts
ortribunals.TheCourtofAppealconsistsoftwodivisions:theCivilDivision
hearsappealsfromtheHighCourtandcertainsuperiortribunals,whilethe
CriminalDivisionmayonlyhearappealsfromtheCrownCourtconnectedwitha
trialonindictment(i.e.foraseriousoffence).Itsdecisionsarebindingonall
courts,includingitself,apartfromtheSupremeCourt.
HighCourtofJusticeTheHighCourtofJusticefunctionsasacivilcourtatthe
basiclevel.TheHighCourthearsallcivilcases.CasesfromtheHighCourtmay
beappealedtohighercourts.
CrownCourtTheCrownCourtfunctionsasacriminalcourtatthebasiclevel.
TheHighCourthearsallcriminalcases.CasesfromtheCrownCourtmaybe
appealedtohighercourts.
Section6ThecrimeofTreasonisherebydefinedas:Theactofattemptingtooverthrowthe
King,Parliament,thegovernment,ortheConstitutionReleasingclassifiedgovernment
informationwithoutconsentofthegovernmentAmemberofthemilitarychangingallegiances
andaidingtheenemyinastateofwaroremergency.
